I have made it so far through not getting covid virus, but was called to let me know I have antibodies of lyme disease, and positive Spotted Mountain Fever from a wicked tick bite that I told her about from last November. Husband took pictures of it. It took a long time to heal. Later today I am suppose to pick up prescription for Doxycyclone. We live where there are many ticks, but this is the first like this one.

Someone earlier today told me it can go through your system and attack anything. I said well I already have Sjogrens and lupus. I have so many things going on in me, I wonder how I am going. he he. I am happy for each day.

I have had a week of extreme pain in my legs and joints. I just try to keep on until the good Lord calls me home. I just finish using my mouth swish and swallow for my mouth ulcers. My vision isn' t good, nor my memory etc.

I always keep all of you in my prayers.

Hi Susan,

Sorry to hear of your pain! I also got bitten by an infected tick and developed the telltale red ring on my ankle. Fortunately I spotted it after about 1 week and was treated with a short course of AB.

Soon after the dryness symptoms manifested themselves. It's just one of the possible etiologies for my Sjogren's type of symptoms.

I hope they give you proper treatment and a longer course of AB than I had (only 1 week). It might be interesting to see if your Sjogren's also improves during treatment.

Good luck  :)

Marie thank you for your input. I thought about that too how the meds might effect the sjogrens and lupus.
I will let you know.

Susan, Sorry to hear that you have these health issues. I don't know that much about either one of those but glad there are antibiotics to take for them. Sorry to hear about your joints. This big weather system crossing the country could sure cause a lot of aches and pains with all the changes in barometer. Hope you will feel better after your medications. Hugs meirish

Irish thank you, and I do feel a bit better today. I started the antibiotic today. I felt quite strange for awhile, but ok now.

Today was the first time in a long. time I really felt boxed in the house a wanted to get out. It was and still is a rainy day, but our electric went out in our community, and we have a bad water leak in the city water line. It's up to us to get it taken care of. We picked up several jugs of water. That is life in the country here.

Have a good week.

I am sorry to hear this. The main bacteria is borellia burgdorferi.  It causes random roaming pain and weather sensitivity. It is also a component in fibromyalgia and sjogrens.  The bacteria leaches magnesium from your system and causes brain fog. The doctor can treat it with a modulated anti-biotic therapy. The other related bacteria that I have heard of I'd babsia.  Good luck with therapy.

The kill frequencies are 379.93kHz for babesia and 380kHz for borellia burgdorferi. It takes typically a 3 minute session to kill each bacteria but I recommend on hour sessions to kill it through its life cycles. If you have had antibiotics while having these bacteria, you may need to repeat the one hour session. So far for me it has been 4 times over many months. The symptom free period duration is extended with each treatment after symptoms have come back.

I just read an article in the NY Times about a woman who had been ill for several years, was paying for doctors (9) out of pocket, in an attempt to discover what was wrong with her. Not surprisingly but sadly no one had tested her for Lyme disease even though she started having symptoms not long after a visit not far from Lyme CT. A doc finally tested her and put her on Doxycycline and it worked. She did say though that the doc told her she might feel weird as the disease was being attacked by the drug, she said she did but was then eventually able to get pregnant and live a much more normal life.

So sorry to hear that it took so long for this to be discovered. The article also spoke about how people like us, particularly if we try to be helpful by sharing information with our docs, can be seen as problem patients. The article noted that a number of docs prefer people they can easily diagnose and cure.

So sorry to hear. Lyme disease can wreck the body. I am a testament to that fact.

Any time you get a tick bite that produces symptoms, GET TREATED RIGHT AWAY. Even then, it can be a long journey.

Best of luck to you and be sure to find a good LLMD .. a Lyme Literate MD.

Lymenet can help you if you can't find one....or find the FB groups online.

My tip ... Take it in the MIDDLE of a meal. Do not do what it says on the instructions.

That's what I did .. But my stomach is no longer able to handle doxy.

Try another if you can't do it.

Another thing to do is to make sure that you don't take it with or within 2-3 hours of any of your other pills. This is really hard and I have to move my dosage schedule around all the time when I have to add other pills. I end up having to make a list of the meds and when to take them cause I lose track otherwise.

Crackers, etc is not enough to take with a lot of the meds so sometimes a piece or toast and peanut butter works. Eat some food first and then take the pill and finish the good. Also have to make sure to drink fluids. Avoid taking antibiotics or meds that upset your stomach with fruit juice, etc. If you are having problems with the doxycycline you can call the doctor. There are two kinds of doxycycline and I know that one of them doesn't bother me as much as the other. Seems like one is in a capsule and the other is a coated smaller pill. You might have to have the doctor order the other pill and see if it works better on your stomach.

Also you have a lot of meds to take and you may have to stop taking some of the supplements or some meds the doctor tells you are ok to avoid for a number of days. When I take antibiotics I always avoid taking my hydroxy or Plaquenil as that med bothers my tummy and when I add antibiotic is is much worse. I wouldn't even take them at the same time but the more pills that one takes that bother the stomach seems to just be worse. Good luck. meirish

Regarding Lyme disease.

It's a wonder that anybody that gets Lyme dz and go for years without treatment doesn't get heart damage. I worked  in Family practice as an LPN and knew personally of 2 women that developed " heart block " and it was permanent even though they were eventually treated with doxycycline.

I don't know why Drs don't test more for that....grrrr

lyme disease, has been checked whenever sjogren's is dx'ed in the area I live in.  And this started a number of years ago as it seems lyme disease often mimics sjogren's.

Susan, I am so sorry for all you are suffering with.  Prayers for you and all and prayers that the knowledge needed is found and then used to treat all.

susanep

Thanks to all for your tips on when to take doxycycline.  We all have to take so many meds that it is a wonder we have a stomach left.
It is a blessing for those that have doctors willing to test for lyme.
