Hi,

Been suffering since having gallbladder removed 4 hrs ago. This time was in so much pain that I didn't know what to do with myself. Paramedics got me admitted to hospital and had MRI.

Symptoms: Pain upper abdomen, radiates to back, swollen stomach sore and tender. Feeling food and drink going down which is uncomfortable. I have hiatus Hernia also, just so tired of not being able to just eat and drink normally.
I am due an endoscopy ! Worried it may be barrets esophagus.

Any suggestions, already on omerpraxole for acid

Did you say you had your gallbladder removed 4 hours ago....maybe you meant 4 years ago. Glad you are having an MRI and that they can figure out what is going on.

Have you ever been given Carafate...the trade name. This is a pill that is like chalk and can be dissolved in a small amount of water...like a tablespoon or so and then drank. It coats your esophagus and stomach and helps neutralize acid which promotes healing. This works well. Doctors used to prescribe it a lot more often years ago and it works good. Have to make sure to not take meds within so many hours before or after taking it. You only take it 2 times a day so that isn't such a big problem. Good luck and keep us posted. meirish

Hi,

Thank you for reply Irish.

Got the results and it has come back normal. My gp is chasing up bloods and letters from hospital. Feeling so washed out, been off work now for a few days but dont feel well enough to go back yet.

I just dont know what is happening health wise. Co instantly feel nausea, no appetite and fatigued. The pain has subsided thankfully.

Thank you for letting me rant.

I am wondering if you have the irritable colon. I just saw GI yesterday and I had a terrible night prior due to diarrhea that did not quit. I was told that I have these issues with the bile, etc but that basically it is what they think is irritable colon. During my colonoscopies they always do multiple biopsies to check for crowns and u lucrative colitis, etc and so far no positive biopsies.

I did run across something on u tube that gave me an option for my colon. One video had info about Benefiber for loose stools and constipation which can happen in IBS. I talked with my GI about this and she said that being a prebiotic (because it is plant based) and can help with colon health. It helps with the bacteria in colon some and also has guar gum in it which can help to thicken the stool.

One fellow on the video said he used the powder and just sprinkled on his food. No taste and settles into the food. Even put it on watermelon and no problem. Only on second day so will see how it works. Use only total 1 tbsp a day doc said. It is expensive but will last will last a fairly long time I think and it it helps is worth it. Good luck. meirish

Maybe not relevant, but just a reminder of how badly our bodies can react to psychological stress.   If you have had any major stresses recently, they could be contributing to your problems.

I have occasional IBS, but noticed that the day before a stressful occasion recently it was much, much worse. :(
Dry eyes (MGD), nose, mouth, occasional labyrinthitis,  dry skin , mouth ulcers, constant but fluctuating fatigue, IBS.  Blood tests and Schirmers negative,no Sjogrens dx yet.   Omega 3 algal oil, multivitamins, Evolve eye drops, Xailin eye ointment,  moisturiser (Instituto Espanol 10% urea).

Actually, the whole world should have IBS cause there is stress that doesn't quit the past 7 months. The civid is enough and then add in all the catastrophes that occur everyday in every country...really beyond belief and then another bad hurricane in USA. Everybody take care and stay safe. meirish
