Mystery of red vertical lines on eyelids - solved!

Last week opthalmologist surprised me with her diagnosis: "You have chronic blepharitis."

I'd expected: 'meibomian gland dysfunction'... I do not have cysts or lumps on the lids - neither do I wake up with flakes or residu at my eyelashes.

Google had thrown me off track because no picture of red vertical lines emerged. Maybe chronic blepharitis turns up different for us Sjoggies? 

At least now I know what it is!
