Splinter hemorrhages under fingernails - OT but wondering if related.

Hi 

I was having a routine check with my GP today and I asked him about little dark lines that have appeared under several fingernails. They are very tiny - don't hurt - and I just wondered if I am lacking something. He got a colleague in to consult, asked for blood tests the same day (unusual in the UK) and says he wants to see me again in  no more than a week. This is weird as I'm feeling pretty well OK right now. OK going by my new normal at any rate.

just wondered if anyone else has splinter hemorrhages.? They really are tiny and I wouldn't have headed to the doctor about them if I hadn't been seeing him anyway.

All I know is that they should never be ignored. Your doctor was smart in running some tests.

Oh well - I've seen my blood test results online. (We have 'patient access')

Most, happily,seem to be fine. Abnormal ones (5) relate to liver and kidneys and cholesterol. Will doubtless find out how abnormal on Wednesday.

I had splinter hemorrhages on my fingernails for years and years.  I haven't seen them for several months now though.

I brought these to my doctors' attention but they just shrugged,  thinking it was nothing to be concerned about.  The truth was,  they had never seen this before and had no idea what was causing it.

The one piece of my puzzle may be that my PTT was prolonged for many of these years,  indicating that my blood was slower to begin the clotting process.  This too was not of concern to my doctors,  and it resolved itself.

Hi 

Another blood test result has come through but I have no idea what it is. I have googled but it all seems very scientific and I don't follow - maybe brain fog.

Nuclear Light Intensity - range 0-48 -------result 382 LIU   
(I's in an Anti-nuclear antibody classification)

I see my GP tomorrow so things should become clearer. This morning I received an appointment for a rheumatologist, which apparently my GP has requested urgently.

All somewhat confusing as quite honestly I feel as though I'm having a good spell.
