Thanks everyone, I found many of these replies helpful as well.

While I can't comment on your specific symptoms, Mollie, I totally hear you on how you can get overwhelmed by fear.
Recently I developed some neuropathy in my large muscles and hands (at least I think that's what it is), and it can really be frightening to feel so awful.
My marriage ended just as I was getting my diagnosis.
My friends and family do not "get" what is going on with me at all.
I have had some bad nights where I like there in bed and I feel very alone and scared.
I do some meditation/ relaxation / centering exercises to try and deal with it.
Pain and suffering in the body does not have to be pain and suffering in the mind. But it is hard.

You all have convinced me to seek out some professional counseling help as well. I have tried to do this alone, and it just isn't sustainable.

Glad to hear that Gore. It is scary to have to open ourselves up and talk about our illness, feeling, etc but it is actually the beginning of a better life. The meds can all affect us differently and we have to be patient and find the one that work for us. I have been on Zoloft since 1991 and it made my life to much better. I had depression off and on and one time really bad-----lived on pepsi and cheese and lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks.

We had just moved out of state and I had no doctor. My hubby was gone all week so had to take care of myself and get treatment. Got the yellow pages and started calling and got into one with in a couple of days. When things like this happen we have to be proactive and make decisions and just do what needs to be done. I wasn't so aggressive when I was young but life teaches one that you can sink or swim. Never choose the path of least resistance. Always choose to fight for health and survival cause you are worth it.

Good luck to all struggling with this. Remember, always find help when mental health issues enter your life. Even if you have no insurance , etc. go to ER or to social services, etc but holler and scream for help and the financial will work out. There are ways the system can help you...one way or another.
