Anyone else on Imuran?

If you are taking Imuran and are having your bloodwork checked regularly when does your doc become concerned about what he is seeing? I recently increased the dosage to control symptoms, but now have pancytopenia (low WBC, low RBC, low platelets) and some other low readings (a few are just below low). I am concerned that he'll want to back down the dose, but that the swelling and pain will return.
