What quenches your dry mouth thirst?

Hi - dry mouth, one of the lovely little gems of having Sjogren's.  What I'm wondering is what do you drink to quench your thirst?  I drink a lot of water - but, I get tired of water.  I don't drink coffee or hot tea, but I do drink ice tea.  On occasion, I will drink some hot chocolate.  I know some people say lemon helps to produce more moisture in our mouths, but for me, lemon products just make my mouth every drier - so, no lemonade for me.

What quenches your dry mouth?

That is a tough question, Bucky.  With my medications, it makes my mouth even drier.  I just added a blood pressure medicine (amlodipine) and within minutes my eyes, nose and mouth begin to dry up heavily.  Even my nose bleed is back.  I have a tendency to gulp water down to stop it, and I know that does not help.  The only thing that works for me is a very alternative healing program, which most of the sjoggies would find way out there.  But, I will be  brave and take the heat!

It is called the Trinfinity 8 program.  It was designed by someone who had an out of body experience and came back a brilliant mathemetician.  It has many healing qualities, but when my practitioner puts the computer program on "immune enhancement", it brings a flood of moisture back into my mouth, nose and eyes.  I didn't believe it myself and was very sceptical at first, but it worked immediately.  "Immune enhancement" is for anyone who has an autoimmune disease.

There, I said it.  I wait for some pretty heafty replies!  LOL

Bucky, sometimes I find that a nice smoothie helps my dry mouth. One that has kale, mango, coconut water in it. Also, sometimes a dry mouth lozenge. I've wondered if some of those aloe drinks might feel good if you swished your mouth out with them. Also okra is kind of a slimy veggie and eating some of that helps too! LOL.....

I had to recently go on amlopidine and it has also made me dry as heck. I will look up the Trinfinicty 8 program. Sounds interesting. I've heard and done some pretty way out stuff to get well. You have to!!! What is bad is that the 5 mg of amlopidine isn't controlling the Bp all the way.

Actually I find chewing gum the best thing.   However much water I drink my mouth remains dry, but chewing gum does stimulate saliva - which is what we need.
Dry eyes (MGD), nose, mouth, occasional labyrinthitis,  dry skin , mouth ulcers, constant but fluctuating fatigue, IBS.  Blood tests and Schirmers negative,no Sjogrens dx yet.   Omega 3 algal oil, multivitamins, Evolve eye drops, Xailin eye ointment,  moisturiser (Instituto Espanol 10% urea).

Deb 27,

Thanks for the kind words.  Yes, the amlodipine has not only dried my mouth, but my eyes and nose, too.  I am back to having post nasal drip and an irritated throat and hourseness.  Have two big speeches to give on Friday and Sunday in front of some fairly good sized audiences.  LOL  Guess it is back to throat lozenges.  LOL

Hope to see you on chat tonight.

I mix 2/3 water with 1/3 tonic (i.e the beverage with quinine) and that seems to cut the "blah" feeling in my mouth. If lemons don't work for you, try mixing some other tart juices in - pomegranate, cherry, blueberry.

I currently playing with putting various things in water overnight. I'll let you know how that turns out. Ideas include mint, cucumber and various fruits.
