Hello everyone

I've given up trying to do office work with my dry eyes.

I accepted a severance offer & finish work February 8th.

Sure looking forward to the next chapter in my life.
If I find complete dry eye relief I'll enjoy my new life even more.

I'm wondering what the opthalmologist will say in a couple of weeks when he finds out I'm quitting work.

If he disagrees I'll suggest we swap eyes lol

Have a good day/night everyone.

Good for you Lotus1.......

I hope you find that you feel better after leaving your job. I have been home
On disability for over 2 years now and my health has greatly improved.
With all the extra sleep and rest my fatigue has improved and my eyes do not
Have such a bloodshot look to them.

I do find I miss people.....I loved talking and being around people. I get out but not as
Much as I did while working.

So, congratulations to you.......do you feel a sense of relief Too?

I had to quit work back in 2000 about 3 months before my sjogrens diagnosis and the best thinn about not working was not having to get up very early and battle snow and cold of snowstorms. So sweet to sleep in, take coffee and hunker down on the couch. I am from Minnesota so not everyone feels as I do. !!! Irish

Congratulations,

I know its a difficult decision but in 2010 I had to make some tough decisions because of my declining health.  I now drive for HopSkipDrive, Lyft when my eyes can tolerate it because it helps me eat.  LOL!  No retirement for me only SSI which is menial.  I have no regrets because living in pain with all these conditions is tiring enough then to throw in the extra demands of a demanding job that doesn't care about my not seeing and my pain.

I hope you get relief as soon as possible.

Thank you all.

Yes, I feel relieved and I'm sure I'll feel better like you people have experienced.

I can't wait for the 'exit' day!

With the public holidays hopefully time will fly.

We've just moved work locations (been to this location 3 or 4 times previously), what a job.

I've the nicest reception office I've ever had for my last posting.
It hasn't made me regret leaving lol

A couple of others are being posted elsewhere in February so we're having a combined send off for the 3 of us at one of the employees homes where wives/husbands are invited also.

We went to the same home for our office Christmas get together last year, a great night.
My naturally humorous husband was in top form making everyone laugh so I should enjoy my send off with hubby in tow :)

I'm excited, counting the weeks.

All the best to you folks and thank you for your positive comments.

It sounds like you are at peace with your decision Lotus. I had a  job that I had to do very intensive computer work with and it killed my eyes. I changed jobs and it's much better.

When I am on vacation, I have tons of energy and despite cutting my hours to 32 and taking fridays off, monday-thursday, I am so exhausted at the end of the day, all I can do is come home and get in the recliner.   If my husband didn't cook, I don't know what I'd do.

I too look forward to retiring soon. I am thinking about spring of this upcoming year.  I do like my job though and will hate to leave. I need to retire for my health at this point in time, so I know where you are coming from!!!

Enjoy your time off!!!

Hope you can retire soon Deb 27.

It's a nice feeling.....

Need patience with eye fatigue from the strain of dryness/grittyness in the office all day.

Thankful my eye health is still good, thanks to supplements I'd say.

Will still search for more suitable artificial tears.

Have Retaine  MGD- complete Dry Eye Relief in mind which someone on the forum ordered from Amazon & the drops have helped.

Keep well as possible addressing all the symptoms folks.
