hearing issues

Please advise me of hearing issues anyone is suffering with,  I have a muffled effect with clicking and I can hear my own voice very loud in my head when I talk.  Have a hard time making out what is being said to me.  Like I hear the sounds but cannot distinguish words,  Also acoustics seem weird intermittenly sounds, speech will seem very irritating to me if near my left ear, can't hold phone to my left ear.  Roaring , buzzing, ringing ears at times.  Already Hard of Hearing (HOH) and wear hearing aides.  Also this dry sticky mouth is miserable and causing insomnia.  My mouth is okay during day most of time but, i awaken every 1-2 hours with dry mouth and I think it is causing my  tongue to block my airway which makes me awaken in a panic.  Also ears are much more muffled when lying down or right after getting up.   Anyone else with these symptoms.  I also have many of the others but , these 2 bother me the most and are affecting my life the most.

My hearing issues began with tinnitus, in 1998,  and then became hearing loss (moderate) in 2006.

The hearing loss became worse in one ear, and then it got better in that ear!  Which indicates that my hearing loss is Meniere's since that is the only hearing loss that can improve.   

My Tinnitus progressed to clicking and roaring and buzzing and a wasps' nest sound.  It is louder in one ear than in the other.  I have a sound machine next to my bed to 'even out' the sound at night.

I would have the sound machine much louder, but it bothers my husband if it is too loud for him.

I have so many problems that the tinnitus, clicking and hearing loss hardly 'make the list' most of the time.   I do have hearing aids and wear them if I am going to spend time in a group (bridge, book club, etc).

I don't mean to lessen the impact of hearing loss, but I have a fairly long list of problems.  I do take N Acetyl Cysteine daily as it was recommended by an Otolaryngologist in 2007 when it was apparent that my hearing loss is related to Meniere's Disease.

Well, I have been diagnosed with autoimmune hearing loss. (the other alternative my ENT doc mentioned was are you Finnish?)  I have given up dramatical TV as I can not hear mid range sounds...like male speech.   My mid range is low. I have hearing aides but even so.  I find that the only way to really follow a tv show is to watch it on line with ear buds.

MY SJS presented with extreme trigeminal nerve irritation....amazing pain in the back of my head. Just my luck. Since I have been medicated I have not had a flare like that again...but the hearing was impacted.

I try to look on the bright side. I read books more. I can still enjoy HGTV .  And my hubby knows I can not always hear him. :  )

Dear Navigator,

I ALWAYS have the subtitles on when I watch TV.  They really help.  Try them, if you can, and you may not have to give up on your favorite shows.
