Humiliated at hair salon

I finally got to the hair salon today after not feeling well enough to do so for so long. I felt I had no choice as the Orencia I'm on is causing my hair to fall out. I wish I hadn't gone.
I ended up being publicly humiliated at the hair salon by its owner for using the natural shampoo and conditioner
I brought in for them to wash my hair with. The hairdresser blamed the condition of my hair on them (extreme dryness) and began mocking me loudly for all the other hairdressers and clients at the salon to hear. He even blamed my hair falling out on them!
I calmly and quietly explained to him I'm allergic to scents and chemicals and that my hair falling out is likely
due to the medication I'm on but he wouldn't stop making jokes and rude remarks at my expense.
He ended up butchering my hair and when I (gently) remarked on it he told me he thinks I'm using
my hair products on my face! I didn't understand at first so he clarified saying that my hair products destroy all they touch and added that if I continue this way I'll remain single for the rest of my life!
I left in tears and am now flaring. I don't want insults or to fight with anyone. I have no strength for it.
I just want to live my life like a normal human being!
Seriously....I just can't take this anymore. :-[

What a nasty person! Make sure to write a review of your experience.
Diagnosed with primary SS 2/2017 after 20+ years. Double vision from 6th nerve palsy, severe anxiety (now gone!), fatigue, dry eyes. Now: 12.5 mg Prednisone (burst), 200 mg Plaquenil, Prozac, Wellbutrin, Restasis, Xiidra.

I did. I just can't get the experience out of my mind.
I tried to remain calm throughout to avoid flaring but I just can't let it go.
I'm a person who feels things strongly and his treatment of me was just disgusting.

Oh my goodness, how terrible. So unprofessional and flat out inhumane. Sorry you experienced that. He should not be dealing with the public.

That's absolutely horrible!  Definitely get a new hairdresser, one with empathy.

I had a similar experience where the hairdresser kept telling me that if I kept my hair short because of it falling out and thinning, then I would lose my husband.  Well maybe her husband was that shallow, but mine certainly isn't!  I got a new hair dresser that cared!

When people are nasty, I tell them "' they are giving off bad energy, and it will come back to them and in this case his other customers,or family '" ,what goes around comes around. unless they're psychos it stops them . Or say "what's your problem , and all of the above.

Sharon, I am so sorry to read that you had this experience with such a mean, very 'small soul' person.
I am the type of person that if I had been in the shop and witnessed that happening to someone, I would have scathingly, clearly said something to that hairdresser/owner.

*Yesterday I took daughter to motor vehicle. She needed to get license, but had physically lost her Colorado one. Almost 2.5 hrs finally get to agent. Agent eventually states daughter needs to get CO license .. Fly to get it. I repeated in a louder tone what she said. And ended with "Your suggestion is ridiculous!" Daughter was literally in tears. Went to other DMV, same paper work... and everything got done in 20 minutes.  Agent professional, clear and precise.  Point being there are all types in this world. There was more to this, so I will be writing a complaint about initial agent and I got the names of those who helped a the second site.

DH bought a haircut and manicure for me. I have yet to use it.
(I should have saved all the fall out hair.. I could have made a faux, real hair bun out it).  I only use wide tooth brush and combs.

People do read reviews and make decisions based upon them.

The owners behavior was callous. I hope you will in next few days let him occupy as little space in your mind as possible. Try to do something extra kind for yourself.  More often than not; haircuts look better after we get home and wash and style to our own comfort.

Sharon,

Wow!  I would not have been as gracious as you were to him.   I'm afraid I would have "lost it" and told him off.  I wonder what he would have done if you refused to pay for the really bad haircut?

You don't need this headache!  Never go back there!  You will find someone much better.  You are a caring and beautiful person.  How do I know?  Because you exude this in your writing😊

Thank you all so much for your kind and comforting words.
When you come across someone so disgusting and hurtful it helps to feel as though the ugliness
in this world is somehow balanced by good, caring, kindhearted people like yourselves. :-*

Right now the only way to "fix" what he did is to get hair extentions and I have no strength to deal with that.
I do wish someone at the salon had said something to him during his humiliation scenes.
I made a point of paying to show him I'm no charity case and in case I decide to pursue a complaint against
him I wanted to be sure I was considered a paying customer.
I didn't want to make a scene and "lose it" while I was there, but I did call him up eventually
and demand an explanation for his treatment of me. He claimed that he "did me a favor" by telling me "the truth" and that if he was so problematic then his salon wouldn't be packed with customers.
He then hung up on me.

Oh my Sharon, I think we all can relate to a bad haircut but having someone be so rude to you as a customer is horrible! I would try to find out who the manager is and try and get your money back. At the very least, complain. People having a medical issue should be treated with confidentiality at a salon. I am so sorry you had this awful experience and got a bad haircut on top of it! Ugh!!!! Call the manager/owner and complain!!!!!

Thanks Deb, problem is he IS the salon owner/manager!
I was thinking of speaking with the mall's manager since the salon is located at the mall.
Other than that I don't know what to do.
I don't care about the money. I want something more to be done about it.
BTW, he didn't believe I had any health issues and responded with a drab "Oh reeeaaallly???"
when I tried to explain my intolerances to him.

Every once in a while you come across someone like that who seems cruel and malevolent, and it's always a shock to the system.  I expect everyone here can give accounts of nastiness and bullying,  it's an unfortunate part of life. But I think those people are taking out their own pain on you, and although it causes you suffering, I think in the long run they are just increasing their own problems and suffering.   I'm so sorry you had to go through that, don't let it bring you down too much - that's just what they want.

Bluegardenia- Thank you, I know keeping stress under control is more important than anything for us
and I keep reminding myself of that. But it's so hard to remain apathethic when you feel personally attacked
for doing absolutely nothing but existing. Nothing can fix what he did to part of my hair besides extensions, but beyond that it was his ongoing public attack on me and wretched insults. I'm calming down more day by day though.

araminta- I agree that what he said reflects on him far more than on me. Problem is he managed to reflect in his words what I was already feeling about myself.
