Sulfasalazine and anxiety

Hi,
I was wonder if anyone knows if Sulfasalazine can cause increased anxiety. I ask this because I have been on it for about 1 month and prior to taking it was not having any issues with anxiety. Since being on it my anxiety is getting pretty bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiecing anxiety, Martha.  I have battled anxiety much of ny life, and have found that some medications can make it worse for me.  Although Sulfasalazine did not do this, Plaquenil most certainly did. 

If the medication is helpful in other ways, that can be a difficult decision to make.  To continue or stop the drug, I mean. 

We are each very different with our body's reactions to these things.  Can you stop taking it for a short time to determine this connection for sure?
