Can someone please explain to me which immune-boosting foods feed auto-immune illness and which are okay?

My Sjogren's gets triggered with echinacea almost instantly - but ginger seems to make me feel better and helps with dry mouth.  I also don't have a problem with vitamin C, for some reason.

Are there certain immune boosters to absolutely and universally avoid, and some that don't necessarily trigger Sjogren's?

Ernie,

Don't know much,  but garlic, melatonin, alfalfa sprouts, and echinacea are all on the Johns Hopkins "Things to Avoid" list.

You might go to the library or to Barnes and Noble and read some of the books they have on hand. Also, maybe to to a website such as drugs.com, etc and enter in the specific products and see what they say.

I would be extremely careful about supplements as kicking up the system is not what you want to do. Also do a google on OTC supplements bad for autoimmune diseases and see what you get. Might glean something or at least raise some questions. Irish
