Hi Trc,

Lyrica and gabapentin are almost the exact same drug, it is just that the Lyrica has something like three additional atoms stuck on one end of it.  I am not surprised that your doctor is recommending Lyrica for neuropathy.  I mentioned gabapentin because it is a less expensive generic, and in my body it is a bit stronger for the equivalent dose, but that is just me.  Many people find one preferable to the other, and of course some people can't take either one - or else the neuropathy relief is less significant than the level of side effects for them.

Side effects feeling anything like "drunk" on gabapentin passes after the first weeks for most people, however, side effects feeling anything like "tired" doesn't necessarily pass so easily.

Immuno-suppressants would certainly help with your neuropathy if it is auto-immune in origin, however, they won't do anything if it is not, and may be due to pinched nerves in your spine, or diabetes, or something else.  MRI results can't show you if nerves are pinched in your spine or neck vertebrae, because nerves don't show up on MRI's.  Wishing you the best of luck with all of this.
