So I began taking quercitin in March because of all the histamine induced problems I was experiencing. I now wonder if it has caused or made my flare worse. I am just hoping that someone can tell me if it would stir an immune response or make one more severe? I am not taking anymore of the stuff until I know more as it could be hurting me. My body is sensitive and reacts to stuff.

Hi, I'm currently taking Quercitin with Bromelain since my allergic reactions are all over the place.
I've read it may be very effective:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22470478

However, be aware of the added fillers in the capsules. Many with salicylate sensitivity have responded reacting badly to it.

Sjogren's (+ RA): positive ANA, RNP, RNP-A, APCA. Severe eye dryness + inflammation, multiple sensitivities and allergic reactions, fatigue.
ORENCIA, Restasis, Anti-inflammatory diet, Vit. D & C, Ubiquinol 100mg, Omega 3....

I have had ear ringing and salycic acid causes ear ringing...gonna tell my rheumy about it. Thanks.

Plaquenil can also cause tinnitus. (Ear ringing/hissing)

So I have done a little research and it seems quercetin while actually helping inflammation may also add to it in some people. It also can cause pins and needles in the feet, hand, arms and legs...not taking anymore until the rheumy consults me. Hopefully I didn't bring on the flare by trying to help myself.

Rheummy says quercetin is fine at only a 1000 mg a day and I can take it safely, just away from the cellcept of course. This is good to know.
