Hello friends,

I have a question in regards to those who have dry eyes. Could you please describe to me if at the party your dry eyes are there all day or sometimes just in the morning?

I've recently started to same up with irritated eyes but it goes away as I begin my day. If dry eyes with sjogren's tends to get worse throughout the day, this could be better explained by an allergy in my environment or perhaps I sleep without fully closing my eye lids.

Hi AlwaysImproving,
My eyes are irritated first thing in the morning but get better in an hour after I wash my eyes/ start blinking. Going out in the wind also makes the eyes irritated.
According to Ophthalmologists, I have clear MGD/Blepharitis with paste like secretions from the Meibomian Glands.
I have been told that it is a chronic condition and have been doing warm compresses/ gland expression/ eyelid scrubs + Omega 3 to make it better. Hope that helps.

My eyes are a bit dry and sore in the morning - get better after a wash, not too bad in the day, then by about 5 or 6 in the evening they are red again.

I'm in a bad flare right now with my eyes. I have had periods where they haven't bothered me much for days. Right now they are super dry in the middle of night and when I wake up. Then the dryness waxes and wanes in intensity throughout day. I've been using lots of eye drops lately.

I think my dryness has been worse recently so during the night and in the am, that presents a problem. I find it's better if I use an eye gel at night. I use Restatis in the morning and evening.  I think I also have blepharitis and should be putting warm compresses on my eyes.

Some may know I am in a ankle to thigh brace and using crutches so some of my 'now' regular taken for granted routine is interrupted.
Even getting to the bathroom was a task, etc. So did I subconsciously drink less water?  Even mild dehydration can affect eyes, (usually drink 8-10 glasses or at least 1-2 liter bottle of water/day), AC is on drying for eyes (home, work, cars -->put vent facing away from eyes). Less active, when we read we blink less.

I use Systane Balance and then a very small bit of eye gel (roll eyes to spread) before bed. This helps seal in moisture. During daytimes of irritation I will use of very tiny bit of gel to soothe eyes as well.. it does not blur if only of tiny bit after it spreads I have found.
Omegas helps with eyes as well. And of course H2O.

Even without full blown Blepharitis, washing our eyes (lashline) as a routine is IMO a wise practice, as sometimes our secreting glands can clog or perhaps secretions thicken. Esp if you use eye makeup along the lashline.
