I have had dry eyes, dry mouth for 2 months now.
Dry throat, legs falling asleep faster and occasional tingling in hands and toes the last one month.
Today evening, I suddenly noticed that I have pain folding my left elbow.
I thought I might have hurt it somewhere and tried my right elbow.
I couldn't believe it when I felt a sharp pain folding the right elbow as well. The knees and other joints seem to be fine though.
Have any of you observed anything like this early on in the course of Sjogren's?
I have never had any joint pain before this.

Eye problems, joint pain and raynaud's started about at the same time a bit over a year ago. I was diagnosed in February so I didn't know what was wrong with me. Joint pain began suddenly with the right knee. I do strength training and one squat session just didn't feel right. Later in the same day the right knee hurt badly and it didn't take long for the left knee to start acting too. Few months later I noticed both my elbows hurt. I thought it was all because of training as sometimes you get hurt. I tried pretty much everything to fix my joints but nothing worked and it all just got worse during the last autumn.

Not sure what the joint pain is for you, but for me it was Rheumatoid Arthritis. I had Sjogren's at least 10 years, when I first started getting joint pain on and off. 3 years later, the RA is much worse, and every joint in my body has been affected.  I do know that many people with Sjogrens, do get a secondary disease such as RA. I hope for you, that is not the case.

When I was initially diagnosed in 2010 with RA and sjogrens
my elbows were quite sore. It hurt to even put light pressure
on them or even slightly bump them against anything.

But my main symptoms in the beginning that I never even
thought to connect with my diagnosis was the painful
toes and ball of my feet. I just chalked it up to being on my feet
all day ( 10 hour days ).....wasn't till my hip made me limp
that I went to GP for help.

I have been complaining about joint pain for at least three years, didn't get a full diagnosis of mctd/sjogren's till last year February. My favorite rheumy, who moved away, did diagnose me seronegative ra and was started on Humira after everything else failed. I went into blissful remission from pain until I got a staph infection after a modified bunion surgery.
Anyhow, I got my humira taken away by the two consecutive rheumys, because I have negative blood work for rf and inflammation. It is now costing my my right hip, am talking hip replacement with hip surgeon, and now the left one is going out as well.
I still complain about my joints every visit and in between with messegas.
My elbows too hurt if I use them repetitively or lean on them to long I can't straighten them up it hurts so bad.

Thank you for your comments everyone.
I started on an antibiotic prescribed by my ENT 2 days back and suddenly feel like the dry eyes, dry mouth symptoms have gotten worse along with this new joint pain in the elbows.
I wonder if this is what is a flare.

Hope, I usually experience increased dryness, then lingering joint pain with a flare. Location of the joint pain can vary. I had elbow pain for about a year. Then it went away. Currently my wrist has been more affected. Since you are experiencing bilateral elbow pain, I would suggest that you be checked for RA. It also may be "just" Sjogren's - that gift that keeps on giving.

I am going thru this right now it is effecting my left elbow, right heel, and knots and stiffness on three fingers on my right hand. I don't know what the heck is going on but annoying as all heck.

I see Rheumy July 20 hoping for answers.

Hi Sunshine,

Yes, the antibiotic Augmentin doesn't list joint pain as a side effect.
I just spoke to my ENT asking him if I should continue the antibiotic.
He said, if the joint pain was due to inflammation, I would usually notice redness or swelling (which I don't see right now).
He said he doesn't think the antibiotic has anything to do with the joint pain and asked me to continue the course.
I notified my Rheumy about the joint pain as well and should hear back sometime within a couple of days. Hmmm.
