I know I have read about many Sjoggie Member's pets. So I thought it might be fun for us to share.

We had a wonderful "Benji"-like dog named Wags for 19 years. She was precious. If you are interested you can see a picture of Wags & Ivy here: https://sjodry.wordpress.com/

We had to put Wags down a year ago in January. I swore...no more animals...well hahah...for pet lovers, those words are meaningless.

Our new family member is Ivy. Ivy will be 6 months old next Tuesday. I forgot how much fun the potty training is...NOT! But we love her. Ivy is a Shi-chon. Part Bichon & part Shi Tzu. They are called the Teddy Bear breed because they look like little teddy bears. She does not shed.

Ivy has turned me into an obnoxious braggy Mom. But anything that takes my mind off of Sjgoren's is welcome.
You may see Ivy here: http://humorme.lol/about-sandy/

So tell us my fellow Sjoggies, which furry pets do you share your lives with?

For many years we had West Highland White Terriers, westies for a shorter name. Chrstina was our first. Andie was a rescue. Jan would zip both of them up in her jacket an we would ride the motor cycle to the lake for a weekend. Andie became too much for us to handle when we were both working. So we found a little old lady thatloved him very much and was able to cater to his every need. Christina stayed with us for 17 years. She died from cancer.

a year or two later we got misty. She was a runt. She was trained as a theripy dog and we would take her into nursing homes to cheer up patients. She was so well trained and behaved that she played Toto in The Wiz one summer. After that she believed she was a star. If two or more people came together, the were there to give her attention. A couple of years later, a drunk driver hit our car while Jan was driving. She left to call the police and the drunk tried to get into the car to misty. The car was locked. Since that time misty had chronic pain like I did and we comforted eachother.

Misty was potti trained with the help of a playpen. She would climb the mesh of the pen and walk around the top of it to join the family on the couch or me in my recliner. When we moved to the cities, we had to bribe our daughter Sarah with a Westy she could train. At Christmas time Trinket came into our lives. Sarah trained her to untie shoes and smile. A puppy was a bit much for misty of 15 years. Altho misty did teach trinket to whisper to go out and park to come in (my migraine head aches). Misty found a hiding place and passed away at 15 years.

trinket stayed with us for 17 years. She was in a lot of pain, blind, and had bleeding tumors that the vet could not treat. She was put to sleep in the morning. I drove 250 miles to my mothers hospital bed. Mom died at 5:45 that night. It was a ruff day,

I did not want another dog. After two years we rescued Bailey. She had a lot of fears but she does love us and her back yard. My hope is that some day she will learn to play and not be so afraid of men.

Joe,

What kind of dog is Bailey? I find pets to be therapeutic.

Andy is a Chihuahua Pug cross, about eight years old.  We think he is, anyway!

One day six years ago, I spotted this happy little guy running down the sidewalk near my house.  I thought I would spot someone running behind him, but no, he was alone.  He started to run into the street with cars braking, people jumping out to catch this cutie.  A man handed him to me because he was on his way to work, asking me to look after him.  Actually, we all thought he was a girl.  :D

I took him home to have the Humane Society pick him up.  Little guy had no ID so this seemed logical.  While I waited for them to arrive I introduced Andy to our old Lab named Corky.  They ran around the yard, played like they knew each other forever.   Then it happened.  Andy sat on Corky like he was his chair.

In that second I knew they were meant for each other.  I signed the papers to indicate I would adopt him if no one claimed him. Ten days later, on Good Friday, Andy came "home".  They had each other for five lovely years, brothers for sure.

Now it's just Andy.  And I am forever grateful for the man who handed me that "girl" dog.  I think he must have been an angel.

Hello SjoDry!

I am a freak PetsLover! They are my only and real family. I share my life with 5 dogs and 3 cats  :P, and I am thinking about another kitty!
Since I was a child, always feel love and respect for these planet´s mates, because I don´t think human beings are superior.. no way!!! Only t have to take a look around and pay attention....

They made that my lonesomeness no chosen the most part od the time by other humans (parents, "friends",...) be less heavy, and make me remember that not all in this life is bad (at least a 5 % of all the circunstances)...

My parents know that I am sick, and my pain going worst... I feel that in the deep, and in spite of they say that they care about me, the fact; that I think it is the relevant, shows that I don´t have any relevance to them.. and this conclusion really hurts..

So, one of the few things that worry me ir the hypothetical situation where something really bad happen to me and in these moment I don´t have anybody to take care of my "kids" in this case.... Sick petslovers have to think about it...

Thanks for reading me!
