Ubiquinol increases saliva

I take 600 mg of N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine a day. I started taking it for improving cognitive function and improving my neurological status (peripheral neuropathy) in addition to the mucous membrane benefit. I actually think it is possible that the N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine may also help with my mouth dryness. After all, the mouth is a mucous membrane.

Regardless, I have seen improvement in my mouth, nose, and cognitive function, some of which may be due to the N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine. Like I said, I do take a lot of supplements, several of which target the same problems, so it is a little difficult to know which supplement is the one responsible for the improvement. I tend to think they all help a little.

Here is a link to a study (UCLA Neurology Dept.) about reversing cognitive decline. N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is one of the (many) supplements they recommend. I tend to agree with them that one thing is not going to significantly improve cognitive function but several things probably will make a significant difference.

I'm giving ubiquinol, the active part of CO Q10 a go for more saliva.

See how it goes.

Hubby has begun using ubiquinol for energy.
It's suppressed his appetite, a side affect apparently.  Hope it helps him lose a little more weight.

I'm under weight so will cease ubiquinol if my appetite becomes suppressed.

As I posted before, I take the CoQ10 for fatigue.  I started at 100mg and now take 100mg in the morning and another at noon.  It takes about 3 wks for it to kick in.  The one thing I forgot to mention is that since it is used for fatigue, it should not be taken after 4P or it might keep you awake at night.
