I have used several ranging from personal that I wear, hot, cold, mist, furnace. I like the furnace best. I have some one come out to service it twice per year. I turn it off at the begining of summer and on at the end of summer. There is no filling to do.

We have one on our furnace, but it isn't enough.

I have the largest floor model I can get, next to the bed and it runs 24/7.

It is cold mist, filtered, and we use a bacteriostat solution to keep it 'healthy;.

The one we have has two 4.5 gallon tanks, which are easy to lift and fill at the kitchen sink.

I also have a humidistat next to my bed which tells me how high the humidity is there.  It is recommended to keep the humidity at or above 65% for Sjogren's.

So the usual recommended amount of humidity is 40-50 and if it's higher their is risk of bugs/mold so you find this an issue, plus how do partners cope with the higher humidity?

Partner is so used to it, and the noise!  That is with the free standing humidifier.

The moisture isn't an issue because it doesn't get terribly cold here, so it stays in the air more or less.

I watch for mold on the windows of course.

And the bacteriostat that I put into the water keeps mold from growing on the filter, etc.

I was using the Crane humidifier then switched to the Holmes. I like the Holmes better as it is so much easier to sanitize and clean plus you can set the desired humidity.

As to the partner question, does not apply to me. No partner.
