i know that this was already discussed many times but please help me to understand why i can sometimes eat even dry things  like toasted bread without water or liquids and on the contrary a little pill seems to be stuck in my throat  ? its impossible because if i can drink and eat on it, and food on the pill goes down, it means that the pill went down also .am i wrong??

Well, texture can be part of it. Some of the pills are kind of chalky.  On the other hand, the capsules seem slippery to me.

And some pills are probably wider than a chewed piece of food.  I suggest drinking warm water before you take the pill to relax the throat, then pill and room temp water.

thanks warm.but i avoid acpsules,in too scared. so im speaking of little pills and my question is: is it possible that a little pill, not chalky but covered, could remain in the throat even after one drinks a lot and eat a complete meal? or this is just a feeling?

Sorry I misunderstood.

My guess is that the little pill does go down.  I do get a feeling like something is in my throat sometimes, but it often turns out be be a bit of trapped air or gas.

I seem to have trouble with my generic Levothyroxine. It's tiny and chalky. I try to drink water first. I don't seem to have issues with the name brand Synthroid which is a different shape and smoother. I do have off and on esophagus issues including some hypersensitivity.

We have a throat spray specifically for helping pills to go down. It's called "Pill Glide Swallowing Spray". I got it for my Dad when he had a naso-gastric tube in and it worked wonders for him and then for my girls learning to swallow pills. (That almost sounds kinda wrong- lol)
It coats the tongue and back of throat and often times the pill just slides down before they can swallow the water!
