Good News on Insurance for a change!

Dearest Sjogren's Angels,

So as you know I have this amazingly expensive IVIG treatment.  The monthly cost is $14,392.  It really threw me when I knew what it cost.

My share is about $478 per month.  And I THOUGHT it would max out when I had spend $4,500.

But it maxes out at $3,400 instead.  How amazing is that?

In fact I'm already at $3,144, so just a bit more and I stop paying.

I still feel very weird about having anything that costs anyone anywhere that much, even if just on paper.

BUT, I haven't been sick ONCE since I started it, so it works a charm.  And someone has to take it, so it might as well be me, right?

It takes gazlillion tests and health histories and everything has to be just right to qualify.  You may remember that I was completely  doubtful that I really had this condition CVID, a version of Primary Immune Deficiency Disorder.  But I do, and the super proof for me is that I went to being sick all winter for the past two years, to no illnesses at all.

I'm convinced.

I have my next IVIG on Wednesday. 

And so it goes.

52 yr old SjS, APS w/strokes, Autonomic Neuropathy, PN, Nephrogenic DI, (CVID) IgG def., Cushing's, Asthma, Gastroparesis.  Sero-neg w/+ lip biopsy.  Meds: IVIG & pre-meds, Arixtra, Aspirin, Plaquenil, Cardizem, Toprol XL, Domperidone, Nexium, Midodrine, Symbicort, Fentanyl, Percocet, Zofran

Yeay Elaine!!! Very happy for you. You're right - good on all accounts.
Dxs: Sjogren's - seronegative, UCTD, soft tissue joint pain, Hypothyroidism
Medications: Plaquenil 400 mg/day, Restasis, Synthroid, Cytomel, Celexa, Deplin (L-methylfolate) (for MTHFR genetic defect)
