I am so sorry for your loss.  Loosing pets is so hard.  Please take care.

Omy I was so excited for you when I saw your original post. But then I scrolled down and saw what happened! How terrible! I am so sorry...

I once had to find a new home for a dog I rescued because the dog had major separation anxiety. I took him to training and even the trainer said after suggesting I try a crate (a metal one he busted out of!) she didn't know what else to tell me. I had to find someone that didn't work who could be with him all day or only gone for short periods. It broke my heart because he was a good dog otherwise. We both work all day so he couldn't be alone all day.

Now we have two dogs since they were pups ( 7 & 5-1/2) and three cats all 3 years old. I am all for rescuing but I know that events happen that are out of our control. The shelter may have not known my previous dog had separation anxiety so bad. But it would have been nice to know this stuff before. I did rescue a breeding dog from a backyard breeder but the dog was in great condition and just needed to retire. She was a fantastic girl. In fact our male Lhasa is her grandson! We got him as she was dying of breast cancer.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know the companionship of an animal can mean so much and do so much for your well being. I hope you can work through this and find a good solution for your family.

btw I too love birds. My father in law had 5 African Greys and a traditional Parrot and I would spend hours in the room with the birds. I wanted to take a couple home with me but ex said no.:(
