My journey started with jaw pain. Its become worse and worse over the last year and i have had a year of misery . The extreme dry mouth is what led my pcp to suspect sjogrens. I went to my ENT today , whom i have seen almost weekly , and found out he has made some horrible mistakes . He never looked at the. 360 xray he ordered, i had the pic on my iphone and he saw a possible cyst or tumour in my bone. I am now going for an emergency biopsy at the oral surgeons tomorrow. My ent was also looking at my catscans in reverse order ,  he kept saying that my " second " catscan was clear when he was in fact looking at one from 2010 that i had done on my sinuses. He was looking for the catscan he claimed to have ordered and i told him he never ordered one . I am now terrified that i have cancer , and at a loss about whether to continue my sjogrens meds. I called rheumo and the nurse yelled at me to take one day at a time . I am going to sue the ENT, i have spent a year in misery, tons of expenses and many lost hours at work. I am so upset . I knew things didnt seem right and they sure werent.

Oh! I am so sorry. It is going to be a long time until you get the biopsy results, in terms of perceived time, and my heart goes out to you.

When you know what is going on, then you should go to an attorney. In the meantime, your rheumy needs to know how his nurse treated you. If s/he doesn't apologize, discipline the, um, individual, and otherwise try to make this right, it is time to move on to find a doctor and staff will treat you with respect.

But in the meantime, until you get the results, just breathe. And know that we care.

Oh Tracyrose,

Nothing to say except keep breathing.  Try meditation and relaxation.  I know that sounds crazy, but really, thinking about it won't accomplish anything.

Calming your mind and body is the best healing there is, until you actually KNOW what is going on and then steps can be taken to address it.

Many of us have been on the receiving end of 'mistakes' and things gone wrong.   It happens.  Wait to see what happens to decide what you will do about the mistake.  You have support and care here.

Hugs,  Elaine

Thanks guys . I won 't lie , I am very afraid. I think i am projecting a lot of bad things but it is hard not to.

What I find helpful when facing an unknown that could be very bad, as think it through to the absolutely worst case and decide what I am going to do in each scenario.

I don't know if that would be a lot of help for you know, but I can offer you cyberhugs.

What the heck? That is too awful.

Of course you are imagining the worst--who wouldn't? I also do what slccom does. It helps me, too.

Hugs.

I went to the oral surgeons, the area of concern turned out to be some kind of dip in my bone that looked funny on the image . So mad at my doc . These images were from last year, and all the sudden its an emergency after he finally looks at them. I did get bad new ,  my teeth that were nice last year are now a mess and they suggested having a wisdom tooth pulled to see if its contributing to salivary gland pain although its probably not. So a lot of stress from this and a lot of out of pocket dental bills ahead. I had insurance up till 3 months ago. I am very thankful its not a mass or cancer of course . The stress set off a whole slew of stomach issues and i also started crying there which may get me labeled depressed and solve their problem by saying all my symptoms are due to that. I am not depressed but i have been running around like an idiot to 3 drs appts a week and i am very dismayed and stressed by these doctors!

TracyRose,  I am relieved to hear that it's not cancer.  The dentist bills will keep coming once they begin. You have to roll with it and  try the best you can to pay the bills. You have to get the teeth issues solved. Bad teeth can make you so ill. Don't worry about the depression thing. We've all been labeled depressed at some point or another. They do this because they have no other answers.  Don't let them put you on antidepressants if you're not depressed,  or you will become depressed.  Does tick you off though.

Praying that you feel better soon.

Wow, that is so awful I will be keeping you in my thoughts. As for the Nurse yelling at you, unfortunately there is almost zero oversight in a clinic setting for Nurses. It?s up to the Doctors to wrangle them and honestly most of them see so many patients in a day that they can barely wrangle themselves. You always have the option of reporting this Nurses behavior to the Board of Nursing Examiners in your state. I have a lot of Nurses in my family and I have had my own issues with Nurses in doctors? offices, any Nurse that behaves like that is in the wrong profession. No one should ever treat you like that, Nurse or not.

Good Luck!

Traceyrose, I absolutely feel for you.  I have been telling the doctor since 2011 that I should not be bleeding from my stool.  I am looking into suing the doctor and the medical insurance if I can.  I have had cancer awhile and I knew I was sick but because the doctor felt nothing was wrong and my age they would not approve a colonoscopy.  This is maddening.  I will pray for you and keep good thoughts your way.

If no one else feel your pain.  I do.  It pisses me off.  Its horrible.  I pray whatever it is it can be fixed and you will be whole.

Loving on you,
