This is our opportunity to unite! The reports are coming out that he died of a "rare autoimmune disease that only 1% of the population suffers from"; yet another chance to sweep autoimmune disease under the rug!! Let's not have his suffering and death be in vane. More people were diagnosed with Autoimmune disease in 2013 than were diagnosed with Breast Cancer!! Let Find Our Cure!!!! I am looking to form a foundation that will research all autoimmune disorders (I was diagnosed with Primary Sjogren's in 2010), because in the end they are all related; they are diseases that allow our T-cells to attack our bodies. We need research to find a method to "redirect" these cells in order for them to stop their attack on our bodies and to do their real job, which is to fight off infections. Are we willing to unite and speak loudly with one voice, to stop our suffering and that of more unsuspecting sufferers?! I read that Mr. Ramis was taking medication to turn off his autoimmune response in order to allow him to live with with his disease, but what we may never know if the medication allowed for a deadly infection to invade his system, which could not fight it off due to the effect of the meds. Because he died from "complications due to an infection related to vasculitis".
