Well today we went and got our Yorkie's medication. She can get better now. I took the big dog out for a walk. That might not sound like a big deal, but a almost 70 pound dog pulling me to where she wants to go potty is a big deal to me. lol..

I took a nap after we got back from the vets, and then went down to my dads, and I washed all his dishes and washed the counter tops, and stove top. He has a lot of people who come during the week for his physical therapy etc.

I have been eating healthy today.

Well I have not got too much done in the past few days for various reasons. I am still very encouraged with all of this though. I am excited about it even when I have those times when it didn't happen that day. I consider that a way of good organizing of my mind. ;D

You are in good company - I haven't got anything done recently either. And I don't think I'm going to achieve much this week, as I have to take mum for a cataract operation one day, and then I have work projects that are going to take my time and energy.

Hopefully, I'll have more to report in a few days time.

How's everyone else doing?

I can't say I did anything this weekend to de-clutter what I already had!  I did get my pictures back and spent many hours designing and organizing a book online so I could get it ordered to be back by Valentine's day.

And I spent several hours car shopping.  It was a necessity as hubs car engine seized up Friday, so we had to go and find another vehicle.  He's taking my old car (as his was only used for work back and forth) and I got a new one.  :)

So I was super busy this weekend!  I am going to go through my jewelry box this week.  That's my goal.  It's overflowing with stuff and not organized at all.

Velcro, the problem with jewelry is that it multiplies. I have eight boxes now, and sorted them into all kinds of categories. Natural (glass, stone), by colors, pins vs necklaces vs the few earrings I have, and a few bracelets.

Don't just start tossing old jewelry. A lot of that old costume jewelry is worth a lot of money. I have a few pins that were my grandmother's that are probably a century old now.

Thanks Sharon. I have one of those floor models and four boxes as well.  I have several pieces from my Mother and Grandmother too.  I also have macaroni necklaces and ribbons with beads on them, from the kids years ago and tons of things like cheap holiday pins and necklaces that I need to go through.

Hi, my name is Angela and I'm a jewelry hoarder.

Ok, I just saw a neat way to go through your closet on another site (it will not let me link so I'll paraphrase).

You turn all the hangers in your closet backwards.  When you wear something, you hang it back up the right way.  After six months, anything in that current season that is still backwards, you haven't worn and you donate or get rid of.  Do it again for six more months for the next season's clothes and in a year, you've purged your clothes down to things you have actually worn.

I think I shall try this!

Ohhhh, I love to look through jewelry.  I have a bunch of my grandma's and mother's costume jewelry too.

Plus, if you have any broken necklaces, bracelets, chains, etc. that are gold you can take them to jewelers and get money for them as scrap.  I did that once and walked out with a check for $115!  Same thing with any 925 silver.

I've got some bolo ties that were a family friends that I would love to find a buyer for - several of them have pieces of turquoise on them.  I know you can do Ebay - but, I've never sold anything on there, just bought things.  Now granted, nobody I know wears bolo ties, except maybe some cowboys or older gentlemen (which was the owner of these).  I just don't want to put them in a garage sale and sell them for $1, when I know the silver tips and turquoise and other stones on them are worth more.

I'm afraid if I did the reverse hanger method I wouldn't have anything left in my closet.  I admit, I wear the same few pieces over and over and over.  Some clothes you have for certain occasions, and unfortunately, those special occasions are few and far between.  But . . . when you need them, you have them.  :D

I sit here on my day off and "think" about the things I should / need to be doing and then don't do anything!  When the family is gone to school and work I just enjoy the quiet, alone time and don't always want to be working on something.  By the time I do housework, laundry, grocery shopping, bill paying, banking, and dinner, I've done enough.

I mentioned earlier in our club about our son's upcoming high school graduation and wanting to replace some flooring.  With all the snow and cold weather we had in January, I never got the opportunity to go check out some companies to see what's available, price, etc.  This week, on my days off work, we're expecting more snow - so again, I won't be able to go anywhere to check on things.   :(  I want to go "look" at things first by myself, then take hubby along.

Mr. Groundhog . . . . people around here are not too happy with you!!!

43 days till Spring!!  Yay!!

This doesn't work if your weight goes up and down, though. Also, I have some years when I wear a lot of this, and the next year that I wear a lot of that, depending on the colors that I have that go together.

Hi, Angela. I'm a jewelry hoarder, too. I love cheap holiday pins -- lose them, and you don't cry! Luckily, none of my kids made anything for me, probably since they lack opposable thumbs. And are very fuzzy.

Try Etsy for selling the bolas. Also, they are worn a lot more in the South West, and posting them with pictures in the Craigslists down there.

I finished my calculations for 2013 taxes! Last year I finished the 2011 and 2012 taxes in October. 2013. Ouch! No problems, though, since we certainly didn't owe any! I also finally got some health insurance arranged despite the best efforts of the Colorado Medicaid bureaucracy.

Next: making some jewelry to sell at the Love is In The Air vendor event on Sunday.

Oh, and I got my sewing machine excavated! I need to sew some hems for the display for Sunday.

And it is so bloody cold out that tomorrow I can cook ham and split pea soup and scalloped potatoes while working on the jewelry. Because we are NOT leaving the house. Except for the dogs, and they don't waste any time!

I take polished stones and add a cap to the top to turn them into pendants. I need to see if I can find some small enough that match to make earrings, since I hear that a lot of people like them.  ;D (I don't have pierced ears, and don't like the pain of the clip ons. Besides, I am  hard-wired now to not advertise my ears because of the huge hearing aids I wore as a kid.

However, recently I did wear some clip-ons and they didn't hurt, so I am going to wear them more, assuming that it ever warms up enough that I can go outside and still breathe. We are supposed to have a German Band gig in Colorado Springs tonight. Since we haven't got a car equipped with ice skate blades, they aren't leaving the driveway!
