Well then you will be especially proud to know that my Scleroderma Support group is hosting their first annual golf tournament to benefit Scleroderma research in May!  After asking if there will be windmills and dinosaurs involved, they wrote me down to drive a beverage cart.........

Thanks for the great laugh! Have fun.

Good luck with your golf outing!  I would guess around April that things will start picking up for us and then we're busy until snow flies again come Nov. - Dec.

Have fun driving the beverage cart!  We have two beverage carts and a whole slew of young ladies to drive them.  I always thought it would be fun to drive them, but have never ventured out there to give it a whirl.  Besides, the men golfers want to see those young gals with lots of leg showing while they're golfing.   ;)  I'm content staying inside in the air conditioning handling all the money.

Kathyx our little Yorkie is not too noisy. I just love the Yorkie. She is my little baby, and shadow.

Well, I didn't get more boxes out of the house yesterday as I hoped, but instead colored my hair. That took a lot of energy so I had to choose one. lol... I did do some more laundry. I have been throwing more papers away that have just been laying around the house.

I go later today to the pulmonologist for my second appointment so I will get out of the house, and some time away even though it will be very cold here, but that is ok too.

Today will be a good day to get this done, and have some time away from all the doggies. lol... My little Yorkie baby though hates it when I am gone.

Bless you. I bet the little Yorkie misses you when you are gone. We had a small wire haired mongrel type terrier. He was called Jaffa, and I swear he was a little man in a fur coat. He went to the rainbow bridge about three years ago, and we still miss him. Hubby retires next year and that's when we hope to rescue another doggie, but it depends on where we are living at the time as to what size/type we get.

Good luck with your appointment.

I managed to go through my TV cabinet last night, while I sat and watched a movie.  It was a mess.  I love movies and have tons of DVDs under there, plus we have a little karaoke machine so we've accumulated lots of those CDs too.  I also had stuffed camera gadgets, cords and miscellaneous stuff (like paper manuals to things) under there.  So I went through it last night and organized it better and removed things that shouldn't have been in there in the first place.

Carolina

Yay Velcro,

Doesn't it make you feel good.

It will have to be done again, one day.

But for now it is 'calming' to know that TV cabinet is orderly.

My achievement today is rather small, but I'm pleased with it - I sorted out a small drawer in my bedroom and liberated 17 assorted pens.  I wonder why it is though that any time I need one, I can't find one that works?

Anyone need a pen (or two)?

Kathyx

Bucky

Good job, Velcro - could you come over and organize my two end tables, please?  I'd really like to get new ones, but these ones have a lot of "storage" underneath.  I love my storage spaces!

Ah, Kathyx - the endless supply of various pens that we pick up along the way.  I have a pencil cup here at my desk at home and as I'm looking at it right now, I only use 6 of the 17 writing instruments in it.  ::)  Plus, there's more in several drawers and places throughout the house.  I'm always disappointed when my "favorite" pen runs out of ink and I have to throw it away and break in another one.  LOL

That's one thing I've found - there are SO many areas in my house that need to be gone through and items sorted out and downsized - that if I attempted to tackle it all at once, it would overwhelm me and I'd just quit.  However, if we tackle a little at a time and keep plugging along, eventually, we'll get it all done.  After all, it didn't get this way overnight, it won't be fixed overnight either.

Today's been a lazy, don't want to do anything kind of day for me.  One of the outdoor cats is still inside the house (since it's been really, really cold the last few days) - and she is getting her long fur all over everything.   :(  Plus, she's making me feel so stuffed up, sore throat and itchy eyes.  I'm trying to coax her back outside as it has warmed up, but she is hiding under my desk right now and not budging!  Plus, any time I sit down to do something, she thinks that's her cue to jump up on me and literally, get in my face.  Why she thinks she has to sit on my chest and be right up to my face, I'll never know - except, I do know she loves me.  Awwww, ain't that cute?!  Achoo-oooo, sorry kitty, you cause my allergies to act up.

I did grab a stack of coupon fliers that come in the Sunday newspaper and cut out the coupons I wanted (now, if I just put them in my purse to USE them instead of leaving them on the table), and then I put the un-wanted papers in the bags for recycle.  Not a totally wasted day, I guess.   ;)

Velcro - how did your picture session turn out??

Have a good weekend everyone!   :D

I keep my coupons in an index card box under categories. We also put restaurant coupons in each car in case we are out and about and hungry. When I am driving my husband will cull the expired ones.

I cleaned out the drawer under the TV once. Threw out manuals two TVs and VCRs ago.

The picture session ended up being a lot of fun, once I got over my nervousness.  I'm not 100% on the pictures yet, as she said it would be a couple of weeks so she can do her Photoshop magic and edits then she'll give me the entire disk.  I will say that I was absolutely exhausted by the time it was over.  Between standing for 3-4 hours doing hair and makeup and then bending, stretching, arching.....blah blah for the pictures, I now know how yoga must be very good for you.  My back was actually bugging me by the time we were done.

As far as photoshop goes, most people look at pictures and go, "Bah...that was photoshopped!"  Me? I'll all, "You just photoshop your little hiney off!"  :)  She did show me the replay on the camera a few times, so I did get to see how some of them were looking.  A couple I saw I really liked.

Katybarstool

It sounds wonderful Velcro. I can't wait to hear what your hubby says about them.

Well rescheduled my pulmonologist appointment until a bit later. I got a good deal of sewing on a unfinished project done today.

We had a dog show up today that we weren't sure if we would see her again, so I have been doing big dog duty today, and nurse to the Yorkie that's sick. Suppose to get her meds in the morning. Saturday we were suppose to, but the roads were so slick we had to come back. Now it suppose to start again tomorrow, so hoping we make it this time.

I looked back and realized how many times I used the words - suppose to - lol..

I did manage to eat healthy today. That began after checking my sugar numbers. lol..

For exercise which I don't get much of, I took the big dog out in the dark for her potty walk. I think that is why God sent her to us. She led me.

Good things all of you are doing. I have a can type thing that is almost empty, and plan to use it to put some pens in.

Well dang!  Instead of clearing more "stuff" out over the weekend, we brought more in!  Ha ha.  We decided to go look around in a couple of our favorite stores Saturday and eat lunch.  We didn't need absolutely anything....so we bought a ton!  Why is it when you are looking for things, you can't find them but when you aren't looking for anything, you find EVERYTHING!

We actually got some really good bargains.  I've been taking a photography class and there is a starter "studio" set on Amazon for 159.00 that includes the backdrop holder, 3 backdrops, 3 light stands, 3 lights, reflector umbrellas and a few other miscellaneous items.  We found it on sale, then 50% off for 47.00!  Couldn't resist.

Carolina

You're so right Velcro!

Everything just jumps out at me, and if it's on sale.....I'm a goner.

There's a very very fancy store near us that sells high end gourmet cooking things.  The displays and the lighting are beautiful.  The things are beautiful.

Everything calls out to me.  And I have to remember that not only have I ALREADY bought one of what ever it is, but I've also already GOTTEN RID OF IT. (we've moved 4 times in 4 years).

Like say, a special container to bake garlic in the oven!   OR, lovely (fill in the blank).

I stopped cooking fancy stuff YEARS ago.  Been there done that, got the t-shirt.  Now I just grill, microwave and eat very simply.

And yet, I wanted a ton of stuff at this fancy store.  Thank goodness it wasn't ON SALE!

And Christmas decorations, the day after Christmas, or two or three days later when great stuff is 80% off.

I have sisters-in-law who literally have a set of dishes for every holiday, including St. Patrick's Day.

I resist.  I resist.  And now, and this is a bonus I just thought of, I can't walk very well, so I don't go from store to store looking for bargains.

And still we have way too much stuff.

This never will have a one time solution.  It is an ongoing issue.

My son made it clear, however, if YOU don't get rid of it, Mom, when the time comes, I will.

And he will.  He once had a yard sale and sold his old boxer shorts!  Honest.

Ha ha!  We have this one store near us that I love, but I avoid like the plague because I will buy stuff.  That's actually one of them we went to and where we found the deals.  We had not been in months...now I remember why!

It's a store where they get the last stock or returns from major department stores.  Returns where there is nothing wrong, they just can't resell it.  So things from Macy's, New York Stores, etc. and even things from Sears, Target....

You really can get some good deals on high dollar items.  But like you said, it's only a good deal if you need it!
