Cake?  We found "Tiramisu Gelato" Yummmm.

Every so often we stop into Aldis', now more often, they have Artisans Lettuce, (4 different types in one container. 2 deep burgandy color and 2 green. Different flavors and textures.)  I love it.

Estate.. phone calls and more phone calls. Yeah, finally taxes "should' be done.
Lined up two more painters to meet tomorrow at the home.

There was a floor to ceiling crack in the Great Room. Brought up photos we took before tenants moved in. Not there.
Hmmm? Isn't that where the heavy tree limbs hit the roof during Hurricane Sandy.
There was a damage report made to insurance. They inspected roof. Made payment after deductible. Inside crawl space/rafters where not check.. OMG?

So they are going to send someone out.

Granddaughter was sick... I wake up sounding like a "black and white' film movie starlet, Darrrling..lol.

Tried to find out what is going on with my laptop? Out for repair now 5.5 weeks? Not happy. Sent two complaints to company.. talked to someone in the Caribbean last evening.. wish I were there. He kept apologizing.. it was to the point of being annoying. I told him to stop apologizing "You didn't do anything wrong. I just want an answer.. what is going on?"  Found the email for the CEO.. next.

Sent DH out of town. Goodbye.. go take a break.
"Don't you want to come?"  "No thank you Darrrling.. I have to meet the painters"
Gave his hair a trim, slapped him on the tush..and off he goes.

(.. geesh I wanted to be alone in the home .. so I could scream.. Oh, well maybe my voice will be fine tomorrow and in the car with windows up tight.. I can scream/sing..lol. It is an hour drive.  ;D )

In the meantime .. the rest of the gelato is all mine.

How is your Dad, Susan. He was supposed to get a pacemaker yesterday?

Oh, quietdynamics,  I could SO identify with wanting to be alone in the house!  That almost never happens now, and 'going out by myself doesn't have the same effect' for me.

I often think of ages past, when people lived all in one room in little huts (I never think of being the queen, and even she wasn't ever alone, come to think of it) and no one was ever alone!    No wonder people went out to become hermits.

Of course we need people, and we need to be kind and useful to people, but we surely need rest and recovery.  I guess that's what meditation time is for.  Go into myself to be 'alone', including quieting my 'monkey mind' which is chattering and swinging from the branches all day long.

Well, enjoy your quiet time alone.

This is my birthday weekend, so we're celebrating with various family groups, and that will be nice.  A lunch today with our younger son and his girlfriend (this is new and fun).  And lunch tomorrow with my niece and my husband's sister and brother-in-law.  I don't know how people who live those demanding lives (like the President and his wife, or any socialites) can do it....one event after another.

Well, now it's March so winter is almost done here in eastern North Carolina.   It has been especially cold recently at night, so the humidifier runs out of water, and it gets dry.   But that's almost over.........

And so it goes.....

Today's been a great day!   :D

1)  We went over to town to the carpet place and went over all the plans, and brought home a few more samples of carpet to pick from.  It's a toss up on the color - two of them that we like are close in color, one a little more "reddish / brownish" than the other.  Either would work.  We'll ask sons input before we make the final decision on Wednesday.

2)  Watched son in a tennis match.   :D

3)  Tried out my new, fangle-dangle dryer lint brush.  It was awesome!!  I cleaned out probably a quart size baggie full of lint that is down inside your dryer.  Now, my dryer is 98% lint-free.   ;D  This brush, which is a hard bristle type brush on a long, bendable wire only cost $5.47 at Menards (a huge, big-box hardware, DIY place for those who live outside the U.S.).  Worth every penny and then some!  Built up lint in your dryer can cause a fire.

I hate to say this too loudly, not to jinx myself, but everything seems to be falling into place with some remodeling we're doing before May rolls around.  The gentlemen at the carpet place said they'll be done laying stuff within the month.  Yay!!

We didn't know they would be removing the toilet to lay flooring in the bathroom - we just assumed they work around it.  Nope, they remove the toilet and then lay the floor.  Which, for us, is a good thing - just this morning, on the way over to meet with this gentlemen, we talked about getting new toilets.  Since hubby and I have had problems with sciatica in the past, and will most likely, have it again (and again) - we want to get a handicapped toilet that sits higher.  Squatting to sit on a "standard" toilet with sciatica problems is a major pain . . . literally!!

So, this week we go to pick out new toilets and when they come to do the flooring, they will install them.  My hubby is so excited!!  (Yeah, sad isn't it, when a grown man gets excited he's getting a new toilet in his bathroom!!   ;))

Hope you all are feeling good about all the things you are working on.

Bucky

P.S.  Tonight, I am enjoying the evening home by myself.  The only noise in the house is the hum of the dryer and the clacking of the keyboard keys.   :)

Wow Mrs Bucky! you are running ahead with your refurbishing at a fine pace. I love the sound of your carpets. But especially, I like the sound of your new toilets. I need something new, not because of the height, but because of the strange position I have to sit in to 'perform'. I could really do with one with a footstool at the front - but I don't think that type has been invented yet.

Onward and upwards with the chores. I bet you will be so proud when your family and friends come for the graduation.

Wow, we have been a lazy bunch lately!

I am organizing the Southern Colorado Community Music Festival (Formerly the Southern Colorado Community Band and Orchestra Festival; the website designer objected to the resultant URL!) and have made real progress. Half of the 8 performance slots are filled, and we got our first ads sold yesterday, as well as arranging for insurance!

It will be June 7.  Florence High School, Florence, CO (near Pueblo. Any nearby instrumentalists are welcome to come!) Gulp.

Now to go clean the kitchen and living room up. The plumbing projects are done (not by me), so we can water the front lawn again, and the toilet tank fills up much better without the 3/8 inch pebble inside it.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I have been lazy too.  With two vacations, six weeks apart, I've been spending all my free time booking excursions, hotels, flights, etc.

Plus, Grandson just arrived from Texas!  :)

I've been a real busy bee today. We went to view a bungalow, and then came home to make our house as spic and span as possible for viewers tomorrow.

We really loved the bungalow and would like to put in an offer, but it really depends on selling our house.

Positive vibes would be very much appreciated! And I hope I haven't done too much today and ruined my weekend with pain and tiredness.

Will let you know how it goes.

Hi, all.

We're in  Motel in Kingsland GA, on our way to visit friends in Florida.

Nice to be getting away......tho' the work it takes is always more than I want to do,  It's like packing one of each of everything I rely on!

However, now we're here.  Spring is more advanced.   It's 79 here at 6:30 pm.

Good to be away........ but not out of touch with my Angels!

Kathyx - I hope your home sells quickly for you, soon enough for you to be able to bid on the bungalow.

Wishing you all the best!  Rest up for the rest of the weekend.

Elaine - enjoy your vacation!

For myself, we're making headway here on my projects at home  . . . I will post an update soon.   :D

Quiche progress: ham cut up, onions browned, pie crusts made and cooked, mince pie for father in law in oven. I'll put them together tomorrow. It will go fast. Good thing, since we'll have a band rehearsal tomorrow afternoon. Up in the Springs. Sigh. At least I can drop off the pie for my FIL tomorrow.

Kitchen counters and stove cleaned. Well, they were. I'll go finish cleaning up from this phase of the quiche before I go to bed.

Back to work on the Festival!

Sharon, you have had a very productive weekend - well done you.

Bucky, the viewers loved our house. I was worried that our decor might be a bit too red, but the wife absolutely loved it. They live in a town about 15 miles away, and want to come to this area to be near their children and grandchildren. We wait with bated breath!

Sharon, I'm coming to your house to eat!  Yummmmmm

Thanks Velcro!

Bit of a bummer though - they have TWO houses to sell before they can buy our house, which they would really like to do.
