Hi all,

Those who've seen my posts know it's been a very long year, really the last six have been long and difficult. That's when I first started symptoms of SjS and had many other losses and challenges.

Well today is my 56th birthday as well as the seventh anniversary of my engagement to the love of my life. I've continued to have many losses and learned that while I thought my job situation has stabilized it has not, so I might be losing that too.

I have done much mourning, gnashing of teeth, yelling, crying, reading, seeking counsel, and thinking and have decided I must use this birthday as a time to be reborn. While some of who I have always been, and I like to think the best parts, are still with me some aspects of who I have been are dead and must be buried (I even suggested to my minister today that I need a wake for the old me).

I also know birth is not an easy process, labor can be long and filled with its own pains. And once reborn some sort of baptism might be in order. That said, the opportunity to find a new life can be exciting (even if scary at times).

I'm bound and determined to make the best of this and want to thank this group for your friendship and support. I am where I am in part to the knowledge and perspectives you share. Hopefully I bring some of the same into your lives.

SjoGirl, I'm so sorry I missed your big day! Happy belated birthday and rebirth! This is so good! Your attitude and more importantly,  your faith is what guarantee that things will be good. "He that has begun a good work in you will be faithful to complete it." We don't know what that will look like, but we know!

By the way, yesterday was our firstborn's 13th birthday. =) He's a testimony to a great attitude and faith. You are as well! =)
