Thank you, Genko and eye2dry. :)

Yes, you were young, eye2dry, to lose your Dad at that age. I'm so sorry that happened and sure you will always miss him.
I am very blessed that my father lived such a long life. It does seem difficult for all of us no matter what our ages.

I'm comforted by everyone and their kind responses. Thank you so much.

So sorry for your loss.  I don't think we ever get over losing our parents.
Take time to grieve and be good to yourself.  You were a good daughter!

Melinda - so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad.  I lost my mum 6 months ago (on her 87th birthday) and am now having to build a new relationship with my Dad.  He is suddenly vulnerable and confused but we have managed to move him just around the corner from us.  I am so pleased you managed to spend so many years with your Dad and becoming closer.  Precious memories to look back on.

I don't think we can ever be ready for this kind of loss - it floors us.  But it does get easier to live with most of the time.  Thinking of you and hoping you have good friends and family around you to be kind to you and look after you.  Ailsa xx
