I have restarted MTX in May and it has taken away the dryness in my mouth and my eyes. I have tears and saliva again, not a lot, but a lot more than before. The MTX also STOPPED my hairloss, yay.
I was put on it more for the Lupus and RA, than for the Sjogrens and unfortunately it does nothing for my excruciating pain.
Does the MTX help any of you, with Sjogrens?

Dear Debbie,

How wonderful to hear of your relief.

I'm sorry for your pain............

Have you tried Cymbalta?  I know it's not for everyone, but it is my magic pain reliever, most of the time.

I also take Aleve, but I have to take Omeprazole with it to offset the damage to my stomach.

Pain is so relentless, so NOW, and so tiring.

I wish you all the best with finding help with your pain.

Keep us all posted, Debbie.

Hugs (gentle)

Elaine

i am assuming mtx is metheltrexate?  I am interested in the answers of others also as my doctor has recommended this treatment for me for neuropathy.

I am on it for the ra and I do believe it does help the dryness to some degree= I also have humira on bd too-

I think that any of the dmards that slow the autoimmune disease process would help

my biggest problem is the muscle junk from the fibro- I refuse to take the Cymbalta for various reasons

 Yes depter, it is Methotrexate.

All of you, thank you for your well wishes.
When I was on the MTX before, it also helped with the pain, somewhat. Right now, it is only helping with the Sjogrens symptoms, but I'll take it, it's better than nothing.
I am going to see my rheumy on Oct.1st, I will ask him for some pain meds. I have taken all the usual, Tramadol, Hydrocodone etc.
but they give me the itchy willies and don't do anything for the pain.
