I figured I'd do a thread that was lighthearted and we can laugh at ourselves at.  Add to the limerick your verses on living in spite of Sjogren's or living with it.

I'll start......

There once was a girl who had dry eye

She could no longer cry

Her friends thought her a hard-azz

Until she got her Restasis at long last

And now she cries just fine

SjoAmy

There once was a girl with a dry nose

That at night would always close

It became hard to breathe

Why was her body so mean?

She even treated it to saline!

ellenkerr

There once was a lady named Louise,

Whose doctor claimed, "It's an AI disease"

Dry mouth and dry eyes,

Painful joints and sore thighs,

Yes, Sjogren's is now her new friend.

SjoAmy

My Sjogren's has playmates, yes it do

Their names are RA, Anemia, and Hashimoto's too

Wild and free

They rampage on my body

Driving me.....who drives my doctors.....crazy    :o

ellenkerr

SjoAmy, you are on a roll girl!!!!!  Cute.

SjoAmy

You're not too bad yourself mizzy.  8). We're fellow Sjoggie Poets. 8)  ;D

Dry mouth, dry eyes

Dry nasal passages, what a surprise

Joint pain and prone to infection

Thyroid problems, you betcha

There's other things that dry out too

But to put "the land down under" in a limerick might be a little crude

So I will leave it to your imagination

About what Sjogren's can put through dehydration

Have a great day

There once was a girl so elusive,

Her body was being so abusive,

The Docs said she was weird,

And then scratched their beards,

So she changed her name to inconclusive.

Every Sjoggie who posts on this forum,
Is a part of our family quorum.
So when docs think you're crazy,
And your family says, "Lazy!"
It's best just to simply ignore 'em!

Diagnosing me

Is like watching a bad Italian mafia movie

"What's da matter with you?" my doctors say

Am I mystified?  No.

"What's da matter with you?"   I reply

"Where are the tests?  I thought you were the best."

After all, if I knew what was wrong with me

Why would I travel to see Thee

Crazy

Can't have gluten
No sireeee
Gluten is very bad for me,

Can't have nightshades,
Can't have rye,
Can't have barley,
My oh my,

Avoid the sun,
Avoid the cold,
Avoid the wine,
Sigh.,,,, I'm getting old.

:-)

This is fun!

There once was a girl who was aching
And sweating then shivering and shaking.
Dry in the eyes and the mouth and the nose
Not to mention those dry 'down-belows'
But her colleagues all thought she was faking!

This is for all the girls......who ever had a UTI.....

My oh my

I've got a UTI

Itching, Burning, Piercing, PAIN!

Oh my, oh my, this is not my day

Total disdain

My little girl is no longer my friend

Perhaps it would be smart to surrender to my GYN

Maybe not

If IC is an afterthought

"I'd rather diagnose you with something I can treat"

Treat me, Treat ME

Don't defeat me.

If my little girl isn't inflamed, then she is diseased

I am a person, a patient, and worth more than the sum of my parts.

Then comes the PAP....

and Wait...

A girlie frontal fart

Sorry about that doc.

Give it time

Wasn't that aroma quite sublime?  :).  Hahaha

When at night I go to be,
The eves routine
I've come to dread

The lotion, potions,
Drops and such,
The water,
The goggles,
It's all too much!

I say a prayer
For some relief
A good nights sleep,
At the very least!

SjoAmy

My mom says I get on her nerves

My nerves get on my nerves

Isn't that absurd

Peripheral neuropathy

Tingling, wavy, electrifying

Here they come

At rest, going to sleep

A nerve spell

Of my nerve cells

And I am done

Where is that Gabapentin

First the toes, ankle.....and now the shin

Oh crap, it doesn't want to be done....of this I am not fond

Get the hydrocodone

And after I feel themselves turn off

I can close my eyes and go to bed before the night is lost

SjoAmy

Connective tissue disease

This is what they say Sjogren's is

It's more of a Connect-the-tissues disease

Where Autoimmune hot spots

Never seem to end

They line up like little soldiers

In a Autoimmune flare army

Immune, infection, bladder, brain, nerves

Prepare for your orders

To make my body be thrown into disorder

As one just begins

To complete its mission

Another is in line

Right behind

Waiting for its turn at disarray

To try to ruin my day

Go ahead

Make my day
