Hey guys.  Thanks for your concern and support.  I have been having a flare up the past few days--pain and fatigue.  Ugh.

I made an appointment with an attorney for Monday morning for a divorce consultation.

I tried all week, telling him that we need to have a talk.  He has just ignored me and avoided me.  I hope and pray that the attorney can give me some guidance and hope for the future.

Hi Arkmom. I've read some of the trials and tribulations you've been having. I'm very sorry you're going thru this.

I'm a family law (divorce) lawyer and have done this for over 18 yrs. I just wanted to let you know that you have options when it comes to how you want your divorce to go. I did the traditional litigation (court) practice up until I got sick 3 yrs ago. I had lots of time to reflect.

I'm trained as a mediator and collaborative lawyer. I only do these now. I always knew that it is better for families to not have a big fight that polarizes parents leaving long standing resentment and bitterness. Mediation and collaboration try to minimize those outcomes and focus on coming to an amicable agreement trying to keep intact the parents' relationship.

I know there are collaborative lawyers world wide and mediation has been around for decades. I'd be leery if your attorney does not even talk about these alternative dispute resolution options or makes you ANY promises about outcome. You can google collaborative law and mediation to find out more.

I hope you find a lawyer you can trust and who truly listens to your and your children's needs.

Ark Mom, So glad that you are exploring options with an atty.  Sometimes it takes just one step forward, or the words from an objective third party, or someone you admire and trust, to make a path clear.

Whether you decide to stay or leave, your Sjogrens pals are here to support you.

To be faced with a life changing choice is stressful on the body and soul.  Please take extra good care of yourself.  Hope you can find a little something each day that is a treat for you.  I firmly believe that chocolate is good medicine. ;D

You must be swamped, but we are all thinking of you!
