So relieved. My Golden gained a lot of weight over a 7 month period and was drinking and urinating excessively. After waiting 3 days for my vet to return my calls I find out he's hypothyroid. I am totally relieved that it wasn't diabetes. I had a dog many years ago that I had to test his urine daily and then give him insulin. At least now I only have 1pill to give him twice a day. So glad my poor baby will be alright.
Sjogren's, seronegative RA,  ckd, hyperparathyroidism, asthma,  osteoporosis,  Meds:  amlodipine, low dose Prednisone, calcium, sodium bicarbonate. Also, multivitamin and B complex

I'm so glad your dog has improved.

I've heard of dogs and their owners looking alike but this is not the first time I've heard of dogs having the same or similar illness as their owner.

I have a friend who is on the same medication as her dog to treat their underactive Thyroids.
