I am so tired I am trying to work up the energy to shower for work tomorrow.

Does anyone else get this tired?

I can't believe I'm 25 and I feel too tired for basic hygiene.

hey!
yup definitely have those days. I've just started a supplement called power adapt to help with the fatigue at the recomendation of my holistic pharmacist. yoga also seems to help with that for me at least. seems worse when its rainy/gray/icky out or if i havent slept well.

It seems I'm always tired but sometimes at the end of the day I have to force myself to stay on my feet long enough to brush my teeth.  Isn't this frustrating?  At least we know we are not alone.

Reggie

Are you taking CoQ10?

Cindy

Are you on plaquenil? Supplements?

Lesley_x

I'm not on plaquenil, I have GI issues and it seems to upset me. Resulted in hospitalisation last time I tried it, although it was helpful for joint pain/fatigue!

I'm tapering down my prednisolone at the moment which I'm sure is not helping either. I'm down to 8mg when my highest dose was 50mg and 80mg injection so the difference is really noticeable.

What supplements do you all take and are they genuinely helpful?

Can I ask another question ... For the past few months at night and when I wake up in the morning I have quite intense pain on breathing. It tends to get better during the day and I normally take a couple of painkillers to get me going. Does anyone else have this problem?

odie

Could your intense pain on breathing be the chest wall pain of costrochondritis?  Since pain pills help it would seem likely.  I have had a lot of costrochondritis that comes and goes.

Hmmm, trying to think of something.

Perhaps Cymbalta?  If it works for you it is on label for both pain and it is an anti-depressant.

Pain is tiring.

keep us posted Lesley,

We want to KNOW how you are.

It may be a good idea to see your dr and get tested for a urinary tract infection. An undiagnosed uti that presents with no obvious symptoms could cause severe fatigue and brain fogginess.

It's happened to me in the past and I was amazed when I felt better after taking the antibiotic.

I will awaken in the morning with pain in my chest which is relieved by using my "rescue" inhaler. When a person has asthma or other respiratory issues the bronchial spasms can cause some chest discomfort.

When you have this all the time it makes sense to get it investigated. It doesn't make sense to take a pain pill for a pain that has not been diagnosed. You could be masking symptoms of something that is more serious than you realize. Good luck. Irish

I can relate to the fatigue. I have only been on Plaquenil for a few months and started to find relief with the joint pain. The fatigue started to get better but not completely better until recently when I think I screwed myself up and I am back to where I started with severe fatigue.

As for the chest pain I have had it for close to 2 months and can't seem to rid myself of this costochondritis. It will not show up on an x ray. Per my rheum it will resolve itself. When is anyone's guess. Be careful with using too much ibuprophen if that is what you are using for pain relief. It can potentially hurt your kidneys.

Go see your md as Irish suggested. you should make sure that your lungs are ok. Hope you feel better soon.

there is comfort in numbers even though we dont want anyone to go through it...

I have severe pain frequently from my RA, but I also have severe fatigue and exhaustion and it is so much worse than the pain.  Usually sleep in my car on breaks, sometimes lunch, come home after work and depending how I am doing take a nap from an hour to many hours long, get up for my shower, eat something and try to watch tv or be on the internet without dozing off.  SUCKS!  I do take nuvigil but it makes me nauseas and feel jittery and awful (how that is a scheduled drug that people would abuse is beyond me!).

I was a few months ago put on a new drug (xeljanz) and then recently taken off.  It worked miraculously for the fatigue, however, I literally only slept about 3 hours a night..I guess it worked too well :)

Is there a good reason to stand up while you brush your teeth? I sit down whenever possible.
