Another tick off the Bucket List

While I have no intention of kicking the bucket soon, as my hubby & I have a bit more freedom now that the kiddies are older, it is nice to tick things off the list.

Last year it was my hubby's turn, we had a month in Vietnam including 12 days of Cycling. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but it was great. (I did spend a fair bit of time in the support bus but that's ok).

Now it's my turn, I REALLY want to do the big lap of Australia in a caravan but that won't be for many years yet, but we have just booked a 6 day self drive trip in Central Australia ;D Flying from Sydney to Alice Springs. We'll get to visit Uluru (Ayers Rock) and many of the other sites in this area.

Australia is a very big place, so our trip will involve many hours of driving, but I am really looking forward to it. Now I just have to try and get a bit fitter over the next month as we will have a lot of walking to do to.

Enjoy your trip. I am turning a little green but that will fade in time. Photos might be nice.

Have a wonderful time. My husband and I have been discussing our bucket list too. LOL Glad you are able to go and enjoy. Be safe. CK

What an awesome trip. We did exactly the same in October 2011 when our daughters were 10 and 12.

The School of the Air in Alice is well worth a look if you have time.

Of course the natural features are the stars of the show. Uluru is amazing (ps we chose not to climb it) but don't miss the smaller ones like Standley Chasm and Simpsons gap in the West Macdonnell ranges (close to Alice) and Kings Canyon (this is a bit of a drive however) We had an unplanned extra night in Kings Canyon due to bushfire cutting off the road.

If you are staying in campgrounds beware the middle of the night bathroom run - we opened our motorhome door to see a dingo standing about 5 metres away! All part of the experience.

Hope you have a happy and safe trip.
