Lump on collarbone

Something new has joined my long list of odd things that seem to happen to me with more frequency in the last year or so. I have developed a lump on my collarbone (clavicle). It is in the center of my neck at the notch where the left and right sides of the bones meet. The lump is 2-3 times the size of the normal side and is fairly hard. It is a bit tender. Has anyone ever had anything like this?

I also have not been wearing my CPAP mask for about a month or so because the area just under my ears where lymph nodes are is very tender and the straps from the CPAP go right across that area and it is painful enough to make me unable to sleep.

I'm going to make an appointment with my primary care doctor to see him sometime this week. I was just hoping I could take some information along if it is related to Sjogren's.

Thanks,

Karen R.

Definitely talk to your doc.

But dont fret about it, every time I get an odd lump it turns out to be a swollen gland.

I have significant lump there also---over 'three fingers' in width, top to bottom. Rheumy was quite concerned when I pointed it out to him and did ultrasound on area...bone approaching lump/joint at notch also shown to be thickened. Determined/thought to be benign for me and arthritis I believe.  Remains large but without additional growth for several years now.

I had a lump on my collarbone, and I guess its common...its like a calcium deposit..my mom has them too.
Mine started when my menopause began..usually harmless...arthritic possibly? I wouldnt worry..

Hi - I noticed the same thing a couple of weeks ago (bony lump on one side of clavicle) and showed it to my Primary Dr who said most likely arthritis and it is common as we age.It did make me nervous and I had been putting off my post thyroid cancer yearly check (over a full year late) so we decided I better get in to see the Endocrinologist. Right after my ultrasound I got a call from the endo dr's office - Ultrasound found a significantly enlarged lymph node in my neck and tsh went from less than zero (necessary after thyroid cancer) to 7.
I am not too worried about a recurrence of the cancer but it is possible, now need to up the dose of levoxyl and go back and repeat tests in 6 weeks.
Now time to schedule my overdue mammogram, dentist and eye appts......

Any time we find an enlarged node and an area that is enlarged and tender we need to get it checked out. We have autoimmune disease and there are a few health issues that can develop because of the autoimmune disease. It is only prudent that we follow through and check things out.

The good thing is that usually there is nothing serious wrong. If there is a health worry then we can be glad that we caught it early. Good luck. IRish
