Have never had gas with any of this IBS stuff, maybe that's a problem...it's all backing up into my brain causing The Fog.   ::)      Certainly isn't funny!  Meant to say my gastro doc gave me samples of Dexilant which has helped some with nausea and "soreness".

Phalo, I know it seems counter-intuitive to think that a cabbage product could eliminate gas.
For my DH, kimchee with cabbage helps, also radish kimchee. For me, it does not. If I skip the fermented ginger carrots for more than 1 day, I notice a difference.

I also take arabagalactin for healing the gut. It's a powder I mix into juice. I think it works all sorts of gut issues.

I would like to add that I cannot believe that I wrote in my previous post that I had had not known Plaquenil caused gas. I actually knew this, but I guess I thought it was specific to a particular drug manufacturer.  I have had serious, almost scary, brain fog this week.
I have advised the younger women where I work to avoid menopause.   :D
Age 61; Blood type 0-; Sjogren's Dx 2005, sero-negative; plaquenil, 200-400mg/day; lunesta; vivelle dot; omega3, 4gm/day; CoQ10;  vit D3. Wheat free; dairy free. Homeopathy and acupuncture help enormously.

From what I have read, the dryness of SS really affects digestion.  With so little saliva, our digestive enzymes are all screwed up!  I stick to foods that are easy to digest, take betaine hyro-chloric acid supplements, pro-biotics, papaya enzyme, etc.  I can't digest broccoli, cabbage, peanuts, etc.  I eat a lot of salad now, eggs, soup, etc.  I switched to a gluten free diet and kind of paleo too and that has helped a lot!  I'm going to try making pickled ginger and see how that works.  I reacted horribly to Plaquenil.  I took one pill and had 14 hours of digestive heck.  I can usually keep my system going quite nicely now except I ate too much last weekend and I have been paying for that all week, ugh.  Oh, aloe vera juice is good too.

If you are noticing an increase in digestive issues when you eat milk and milk products you could have a developed a lactose intolerance.  If you don't want to give up milk products you can try taking an enzyme to helps digest the lactose in the milk.

I used to use aloe vera juice till it became so expensive but am going to splurge and get some...from what I've read it does help coat the GI tract.  I am miserable with this extended round of bloating/nausea/slow movement.  It's definitely the worst ever.  Also, the only dairy I've been using is greek yogurt -- for the probiotics -- and that's only a dollop mixed with fruit.  Use unsweetened almond milk also.
