I'm going to be mother of the groom!! My oldest, Peter, proposed to Mel on new year's eve, in such a lovely romantic way.  He had made a video of the news of the year to show to friends at their party.  At the end he said "I know it's not been the best year so far Mel, but I'd like to make the last hour very special.  Will you marry me?" - then produced the ring!!

I'm very lucky as Mel is very special already.  Everyone is delighted and my Mum, who is 86 and very frail, has declared she will be at the wedding!   They are hoping to get it organised for August as Mel is a teacher and Pete also works in adult education so that is the best time.

Just wanted to share my news - it certainly put a smile on my face after my horrible reaction to rituximab on 27th!   ;D

What lovely news for the new year. Are we allowed to ask if they have thought of a wedding date yet?

Thankyou all for sharing the joy!  It's all come together quickly and is set for 10th August.  A village church then marquee nearby.  There is a serious bridesmaid diet happening in my house as Katharine and Susie are to be bridesmaids.
