Remission…?

Remission...?

The past two weeks as my system has been eliminating toxins, I have been thinking about the possibility of remission or Sjogren's symptoms. I have been wearing my polar fleece mumps scarf to bed as I have done in the past. I have been taking my supplements and diabetic medications as before. I still use Reiki and Reflexology to help me deal with the pain. I have used frequency to kill bacteria from time to time. I have used other tones randomly to help me heal. In short I have not used frequency on a regular basis like I should.

A couple of weeks ago, I got moisture in my sinuses, eyes, and mouth (as long as I did not mouth breath). The pain in my muscles and joints reduced to the point that I thought it had gone away. I went from 4-8 liters per day of fluid down to 1-2. I do not know what caused this change and I am not complaining about it. But is remission possible?

I know that I have been told that remission does not happen. Symptoms just seem to progress. This period may just be the calm before the storm. I choose to enjoy it as long as I can. Sleep patterns have started to change; my meditation at night puts me to sleep for 4 to 7 hours. I take several naps during the day now at lunch and supper. Maybe remission is possible. Maybe it is just a change in symptoms.

I hope it is remission!

Hi Joe  :)

I had a bad spell in my 30s - but dryness was not my main issue then. I then had about 10 years worth of remission and everything kicked off with the approach of menopause. Hashimotos developed and the dryness arrived. I, personally, think remission is possible but I have also read that it isn't.

Take care - Scottie  :)

At least you don't have to worry about hitting menopause, Joe! I hope you feel so good for the rest of your life!

Joe

With everything that you have experienced in the last year, you definitely deserve a break.  I also have periods of no symptoms, although I don't have the severe symptoms to begin with.  Feeling normal is wonderful and cherish every moment, but don't over-do it!!

Maybe you have balanced a few things. I definitely have periods where my symptoms get better. Actually I am sure most of mine are hormonal. Or related.

At any rate, enjoy this time!

Thank you all for your responses. This is typically a bad time of year for me, late fall through early spring. I was hoping to start a discussion on the possibility of remission. This was not something that I was expecting. I hope it lasts.

I really hope you do have a remission Joe, and dont worry about the calm before the storm. Just enjoy the ride. My endo says my thyroid is in remission, I am going to take it for all I can....now if the other AI's would leave me alone for a while lol

Joe,

I think there is remission! I hope that it lasts for you. I hope it comes back for me too :)

I went for over a year with no symptoms at all. Mind you I do not have dryness (yet) and I guess mine are mild but I had them none-the-less.

I hope your remission continues-hootyhu

Hoping it is remission, but thankful for the relief you are experiencing, remission or not.

I think remission must be possible.  We all have times that are better and times that are worse.  Why not have the better times go to remission?  I'm doing all I can through diet because it's easier for me, but I also think there must be a way through meditation to quiet body responses to perceived threats.  Long ago, I used meditation to increase the temperature of my finger tips (it was a biofeedback exercise) and to change heartbeat.  Why not communicate with the immune system?  Why not open up clogged glands?  Maybe my next project.

Sometimes feeling better just seems like grace.  Enjoy it and be grateful when it comes!

Joe..I love hearing good news.

Here is a definition of remission (illness)

Remission is the state of absence of disease activity in patients known to have a chronic illness that cannot be cured. .... A complete remission is defined as complete disappearance of all such manifestations of disease. Each disease or even clinical trial can have its own definition of a partial remission.

Joe you do so many positive and proactive measures: I am convinced your hard work and research had benefited you. And you have so freely shared with others.

I am in the inflammation control corner to control symptoms and detoxifying your body has benefited, lessened the stress on an already challenged body/mind.
Then you have been de-stressing the mind....mind--->body---mind. Interrupted the Cycle of pain/stress/inflammation.

So many kudos to you. Now the due diligence. With the better sleep, this is actually when our bodies/mind heal themselves...you are on a positive course. This is when you want to continue the course. If the disease, virus? is dormant, remission?, you want to continue helping your body/mind.

I am hoping 1-2 weeks turn into many more and that if symptoms return they will be weaker, and weaker as you stay your course.

Great news..can't wait to hear more!

Well, I still am in remission from Sjogren's and Fibro. My eyes will get dry if I over do computer screen time. My mouth will get dry if talk more than I listen or mouth breath. I sleep with my mumps scarf and slippers on. I take my supplements and medications.

It snowed here last night after a brief rain that froze. Shoveling today may be interesting. I may have to find spikes for my boots and cane.
