My online pharmacy notified me that a new refill is being processed for me.  I didn't recognize the name, so I called to ask about it.   It is a generic for Evoxac!  I don't have it yet, but I'll let you know if it works as well as the real thing.  I hope this will be good news for a lot of us, since "real " Evoxac is so expensive.

Oh my, I hope it works as well.  I will be calling for a new refill later this month.  It is so EXPENSIVE and would be great if the generic brings the price down, as long as it works the same.

Thanks for sharing Cheryl.

Glad to hear you were able to fill that prescription. My pharmacy called to say my insurance will only cover the generic now, and then called back to say the generic was back-ordered and so they filled the Rx with the brand version instead. Fortunately the insurance company accepted and paid for that.

Oh my gosh, this is such great news! I actually didn't get my refill this month because it's so very expensive.

Now I'm wondering if they are having trouble getting it for me, too.  They usually process an order in a couple of days, and it's been a week.  The backorder would explain that.  I'll let you know when/if it comes.

I'm not on it yet, because we're waiting to get my dosage of Imuran up to 200 mg and don't want to add new medications until then, but that's good news that a generic (should) be available really soon! There's no way I could have used name brand since our insurance only covers half the cost of a name brand Rx.

Is it being acquired legally? I don't believe the Evoxac patent expires for another year....

Not that I care :) Less for the gluttons.

Styx,
Apparently my doctor ordered it for my next refill, because Caremark notified me that it is being processed.  It must be legal.   :)

I just hope it works as well, I tend to see a bit of a dif in generic vs name when it comes to some drugs. I know they will swap me to it, if it dont work i am gonna cry..well try too

I've been taking the generic for about a week now, and it seems to work just as well for me.

Bjnc,

How much cheaper was the generic?  I hope it is discounted quite a bit.

Thanks,
