I tested positive for Lyme when I was first diagnosed with Sjogrens a few years ago. I was put on a round of antibiotics and tested negative after that. I'm not sure if it was a false positive or if the Lyme triggered the Sjogrens.

I have no idea if I have lyme or not, but I live in the middle of  a tick infested area.

It makes no sense, because this past year I brought it up to the nurse practitioner close to where I live, and she basically laughed at me, and said you don't have a rash from lymes, and you don't have a typical bulls eye formed around a tick bite.

I just don't think everyone has so called typical symptoms.

My dad use to work out in the tick infested woods before he retired, and they would never test him for it either.

There has to be some reason they don't want to know.

My dad has had Lymes 7 times and NEVER had the bullseye rash. Lots of people don't - just like lots of people with Lupus don't have the face rash (me included). WHY ARE DOCTORS SO IGNORANT?!  >:(

I never had a bullseye either, not everyone gets one.

Drs. want to get paid....insurance companies do not want to pay for the longer course of treatment. Thus, chronic lymes. And there were Dr. who were brought in front of the Medical Board for longer course treatment.

....then there is the issue of testing, dormancy, so if a test show you Had Lyme, a Dr. will not want to treat and jeopardize his license, nor get sued if a patient develops complications on a 'negative' test. When my Western Blot did not have 'enough' bars  to indicate treatment (off by only one) I was not treated.

When I had my daughter tested, the Dr. told me basically I was "ridiculous". I informed her we have an apple tree near the back door which the deer eat, red fox, an occasional bear alert where we live and my children do 'healthy outside' play. AND we are pulling ticks off children at the local school!"

"Allow me to parent and be "ridiculous". Never let her touch my child again...
I thought about buying guinea hens for tick control.

I never had a tick in my life till moving here, the first year I had quite a few different kinds on me. The black legged ticks the spotted ticks seed ticks and brown dog ticks, who knows what I contracted from the bites, we also had a flood that was deemed a disaster by the feds and had the natl guard and army here for months. The possibilities of exposure to all kinds of things that could have set off AI are 100 percent
