What's cooking at your house?

I bet there's been lots of cooking lately getting ready for the holidays.  What have you been cooking or baking?

Growing up, my Mom always baked all kinds of cookies at Christmas time.  She had one of those cookie presses and would make many different varieties of cookies.  She'd put the finished cookies into tins that sat on top of a cabinet and those were off limits to us kids - as these cookies were for company.

One evening, Dad got into the Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies - sitting in the living room enjoying a cup of coffee and eating cookies.  Then Mom came into the room . . . . uh oh!!  She was not a happy camper and let's just say Dad wasn't too pleased either as "he was the one working so she could make these cookies and if I want a cookie, I'll have a cookie!".  Funny how something that happened well over 35 yrs. ago is still fresh in my mind as if it just happened.

I've steered away from making lots and lots of cookies or goodies at the holidays as we would just end up eating them all ourselves - which we don't need.

Anyhow . . . what's cooking/baking at your house?

Tonight for dinner I made one of my hubbies favorites - ham and beans w/cornbread.  Yum!

Hi  :)

Due to broken arm I haven't cooked anything since August. I feel so sorry for hubby today as he is struggling to make a Christmas meal for me, son and partner but he's not feeling too good. His stomach is playing up. Son's partner is not feeling too good. She has a stinking cold. Still - the roast is in the oven. Not sure exactly who will actually be eating later!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Well I received a fabulous new Italian cookbook for Christmas from my son so tonight we will have: Pollo Al Limone. I am excited, we will cook together. I can do so little these days. My husband will go to the store to get the ingredients for me.
So Bon Apetite everyone. CK
