Poem in honor of Sjogren's Awareness Day, July 23

I have written the following poem in an effort to explain this syndrome.  You have my permission to copy and share it (for personal use only.)

Please Understand About Sjogren's Syndrome

My knuckles are bumpy
Aches make me grumpy
I'd love to feel 20 again
I hide from the sun
And most outdoor fun
Like a hermit since Sjogren's began

Bright lights make me hurt
Eyes feel full of dirt
Drops are my very best friend
The pill box is bursting
(even one for thirsting!)
But symptoms appear without end

Muscles are tight
Digestion's not right
My skin is all spotted and dark
Thyroid's gone whacky
Memory's lacking
(I can't even find where I park.)

So be patient with me
When I act differently
I'm not intentionally feeling this way
Symptoms may worsen
But I'm still the same person
And tomorrow I'll have a good day!

This has been on the burner for awhile, so I can't say that I wrote it specificly for that project .  Will it be a non-profit publication intended to educate others?  You can pm me about it!
