okay :'([/size      So where do I go from here?  I have sat and waited for the stronger strength Vicodin to take effect and it just isn't doing it tonight.

I know that it is going to hurt, but my goodness...somebody out there that has had this done before, let me know...is this normal?   Pain radiating in the center of my chest, below the left breast and thru those ribs??  I guess it's gotta be.  Everyone in my world seems to think I should kinda be over this by now and I am thinking....NOT!!!

Wasn't this like a major surgery??

I think I am going to message my home health nurse.     ~sass~

Sass,

I think a call to the home health nurse would be just fine.   You know your body more than anyone else.  I would say that was a major surgery!  Please keep us updated as you can.

Cricket

What size Vicodin are you on?

Call the nurse enough is enough, never mind what anyone says, they can ' t imagine what you are going through,,

pain is some better.  I am on 7.5 Vicodin.  She will report to doctor about pain.  It all seems that this is the way I should feel.

Oh Sass, I am glad your feeling somewhat better but keep on top of those pain meds. If it is too much, always contact your nurse or Dr. Do not allow yourself to think this is over and you should be riding that ole gray mare. It WILL take time... lots of it! Sending hugs and prayers!

Sorry Sass. I hate this for you.

Ya know, as soon as an EMT gets to a victim, they give them oxygen - you know why? Because oxygen helps your body heal. Well guess what. Your lungs are compromised and not converting oxygen into your blood stream well. This means you are going to heal slower.

The people around you are going to be the way they know how to be - so don't expect anything different than their norm. That's okay - they are who they are. But don't expect more than your norm either. You rest. The more rest you give your body, the more it can use that saved energy for healing.

I sure do hope you get some relief from the HH nurse. Do you have a good one? A tender one? I pray so.

Everyone reacts to pain differently..  I can take a lot of pain, except surgery pain... That knocks me on my butt..

If I didn't take one pain pill every 4 hours I would be in terrible pain and have to take one every 2 hours for the next 6 hours to get it to a bearable level.. And I was taking 10mg percocet.. I was allowed to take 2 every 4 hours..

Ask them for stronger ones and make sure you take them on time you'll feel lots better.... I don't think you heal as fast when you are in that much pain..

I am so sorry to hear of all your troubles.  I've just been reading your posts.  Just wanted to let you to know you are in my thoughts.joyce

Many hugs.  Hope the pain is better soon.

You need to take those pain pills as directions say, keeping the level up in your body. Which I am sure you know this!  Keep on keeping on!!!!

As I told you before that I had minimally invasive lung biopsy.  Just that knocked me on my butt.  If I did not take those pills as described I really was miserable. The ride home in the car with the oxygen tank liked to kill me.  I had NO drains and just 2 sets of tiny sutures on my side.

Now take those pills before you need them!  My son-in-law had the kind of biopsy you did and he was miserable.
Relax and take those deep breaths that Joe likes for us to do!

That tube was resting next to the nerve a few days and kicked up the nerve endings. It makes sense that the nerve pain continues and will take a while to leave. Good luck and get better soon. Irish

Hi there Sassy girl!  I haven't been on in a few days and I just wanted to give you my hugs and prayers for a quicker, less painful recovery honey!  I hope you are doing better with every minute  :)

sass

HEY YA!

super glad to report that yes, with each passing day the pain does get better.  I am being more vigilant with taking my pain meds and knocking back the anti-inflammatory.  If I go over though..well Annie, get your gun!!  lol, I am a sharp shooter, but prefer to hit the non-living targets!!

I have appointments this Thursday with the surgeon and the pulmonary.  Really ready to find out if we have a true diagnosis yet!!!  With the experiences I have had in the past, I fully expect to walk in and they say it has all been a mistake or a big joke.  All of it is in my head.  Why do we get burned like that.  All the years of being told that this is not real!

Well, If this is nothing..."sumbody got sum splaining to do"!!!

So I wish you ado for now...oh goody,, UPS just drove up my drive!  My only reprieive!  oops, Craig beat me to the door.  Now I have the splaining to do!!  lol   {as if}   ~sass~

Oh my, Sass, all this pain, from the biopsy?  Not even surgery to remove stuff or replace stuff?

ACK.

I can't do any of the pain meds, they are all related to opium, from which codeine is derived.

What will I do?  Well, cross that bridge when I come to it I guess.

Sass, you are amazing.    I just opened another window, so I could see what you put in your 'byline' at the bottom.

OMG, how CAN you have one more thing????   There isn't room to write any more.

I wish I found this funny, but I understand about laughing instead of crying.

Really, find the funniest movies and things you can to read.  If you can read.   Hal Holbrook doing Mark Twain makes me roll on the floor for some reason.

I also like the British comedies that are shown on PBS.

This surely brings me to my senses when I complain about my little piddling problems.

I will be waiting to hear more.

Hugs

Elaine

PS  Pain has to to be kept in the box, cause if it gets out it takes so much more to put it back.

Take what you need, Sass.

Carolina..  I guess I will have to start abreviations and deleting things keep popping up.

Life is too short to sweat too many of these things.  Some come, so go!

You have a great sense of humor and have fun trying to laugh at the things that many would cry over.

Things really are great for me most of the time..Living with pain, like we all do, i think we learn to buffer out a lot more than most people.  Eventually, we find some power to ignore what most would find debilitating.

I love reading your posts....I wish I could figure out how to put my picture on like you have yours,  I just like seeing that smiling face!  It does the heart good to see a smile on anothers face!            ~sass~
