Hi fellow Soggies   

It's a brand new month  -  June 2012.  Along with this new month comes some new birthdays and anniversaries.

We'd like to celebrate the occasion with you - so, if you want, tell us the date of your celebration.

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to our members who celebrate the occasion in June.

I'm always glad to have a celebration that involves cake and/or presents!

I'm going to be away from the boards for a week, but wanted to wish anyone who might be celebrating a birthday or anniversary in that time frame . . . to have a great celebration!!

My dear momma has a birthday June 1 though she is spending it in heaven. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!

She would have been 77- She loved gardening, canning lots of foods(especially green beans), a wonderful cook, and sewed/quilted all her life. She passed the sewing/quilting bug onto me. Most of all she loved being wife to my dad. They were ALWAYS together. She loved me, my 2 sisters, 1 brother, 7grandkids, and her last few years ultimate little passions- great grand daughters. 6 of them.

Later today, me, my husband, and dad are going to the cemetery, and I have some pretty flowers for her. Her favorite color is pink.

Then later this evening, we are taking dad over to my son/daughter in law's house for dinner to chat about momma, and congrats to my son who has just been acknowledged as a professional photographer.

His grandma would have been proud, and his grandpa doesn't know yet, so that will help him today too.

Sorry to ramble on.

One more brief tidbit. This month is also her and dad's 60th wedding anniversary.

I know you are missing your Momma...you just go ahead and write all you want about her, dear! 

  I enjoy hearing about her, what a special lady she was, and I've always thought June was a lovely name.  My mother loved pink, too; she had dark hair and brown eyes and always looked good in it.

That's good to talk about her with your family. We've done that so many times about my FIL and my Mom who's passed.  We find ourselves laughing and crying over stories or things they'd say.  It's good for the soul, I think, and brings you all together.  And you can share with us, here, too, anytime.

Congratulations to your son being acknowleged as a professional photographer! I'm sure his grandpa will like that news, and somehow I think grandma might know, too.    That must be a bit bittersweet that their anniversary is this month, too.  Maybe you can help your Dad celebrate a bit if he wants.

I have another birthday on June 23 and my sister on June 7.  Son has an anniversary on June 12.

Here it comes, one more year older and I hope one more year a wee bit wiser.   

My birthday is on the 13th.

Hubby usually gets me a Baskin and Robbins - pralines and cream ice cream birthday cake and I have big plans to dig right in!

We also have a couple of birthdays in our family...my nephews birthday was on the 4th and my mom's is on the 27th...btw...her middle name is June too!

Happy Birthday/Anniversary to all here!! 

My husband's birthday was the 11th...poor guy had to work all day and had a tough one. Hopefully, we can celebrate over the weekend and make it a combo cookout for Father's Day.

Lynn, Happy birthday late to your dear little nephew and hope your mom has a great day on the 27th!

My grandaughter Maura turned 7 on June 12th.

On June 26th it will be my parents wedding anniversary........they only made it to 31 years together...my father died in sept 1987.
I always send her a card for it.....It just says simply......"Thinking of you today on your anniversary".

My mother was a young widow at age 51...she never married again and is now 76.

My hubby got to celebrate a birthday and father's day on the sameday this year, that doesn't always happen but this year it did.  My parents would have celebrated over 55 years together on the 22nd. Mom has been gone for over 30 and we lost Dad in 2008.  I was only 24 and a new mom myself when she died.  Looking back, now that I have sjogrens, I really think she had it too.

quietdynamics - what a pretty Orchid.  Is this a picture you took?  The colors are so pretty.

OK - confession time . . . today while I was in the store I bought some chocolate cupcakes w/filling.  These are dessert for a belated Father's Day lunch we're having today for my husband.  Let's see . . . there are 12 of them and there are 3 of us.  Looks like I can share some with the first 6 ones here to get them.  (I have to save two for each of us.    ).  I had to hide them from the boys . . or else they will gobble them down!  Woohoo . . . I'm having cake today . . . allbeit, a cupcake.
