Oh, you poor thing! I had cellulitis after my second c-section. I've never healed well or quickly, and we thought we had it licked after the second antibiotic but the darn thing came back a couple of weeks later  :-\  One thing we did to keep an eye on it was to use a thin marker or pen to trace the edges of where it was red so I could clearly monitor if it was improving or worsening. It should improve fairly quickly if the bacteria isn't resistant to the antibiotic (I was first put on Keflex, it continued to worsen so was switched to doxycycline and it showed improvement in less than 24 hours).

I'll also be prepping for a colonoscopy in a less than 2 weeks - I'm not looking forward to it! I think the prep is much worse than the procedure  :)
SLE and SjS with PN. ANA >1:1280 speckled,
SS-A >8.0, RF positive. Botox for migraines, Clonazepam, Zoloft, Imitrex for migraines, CellCept 1000 mg, Plaquenil 200 mg, Restasis, Zofran for nausea, Gabapentin, Evoxac and Norco for pain.

Having cellulitis and prepping for a colonoscopy sure sounds like about the last thing a person would want to be doing. Good luck, girl. Irish

ugh !

The worst part about a colonoscopy is the prep the night before!

Well, I had my colonoscopy. Diagnosis Hiatal hernia and two polyps sent to the lab. Now I have a fever of 101.7. Don't know if its from cellulitis or the colonoscopy. Called the GI and she days take a.tylenol and see what happens.

I would not mess around with this. If you take the tylenol your temp will go down, but what, exactly will that prove. Did you have a fever with your cellulitis before the colonoscopy???

You should be prepared to get to ER as you may need to have some IV meds. REmember that you just had some polyps removed and this could just possibly set you up for some infection. Whether it would be related to the cellulitis or not would be hard to say. Nothing to mess arouond with.

A temp of 101.7 is almost 102 and in an adult this is more significant than in a child. I will be thinking of you. Please keep abreast of this. Good luck. Irish
