Dearest angels,

When we last left Ms. Carolina (aka Elaine) she was religiously applying THREE (3) different creams to her feet morning and night. (and after swimming or showers during the day, as well).  Elaine is nothing if not compliant.

The two latest creams were for her big toes, which had a peeling, bleeding problem.

Both by prescription from a dermatologist.

The original cream, suggested by the podiatrist a year ago,  was for thick and cracking skin, which wouldn't heal, and was also bleeding.

THE GOOD NEWS:  The toes are well!  The heels are well!

AFTER five (count 'em 5) years of peeling, bleeding toes, the anti-fungal cream (ack fungus!!!) has healed the toe peeling and bleeding.

One RX cream slayed the toe fungus (blech, fungus) and the second RX cream healed the toe skin.

Elaine had already discovered that the third cream (which is OTC) took care of the heel cracks.

The soles of her feet are NOW like a sweet baby's bottom.

No bloody foot prints, no pain!

Now on any scale of what we suffer from here, this probably doesn't even GET on the scale.

And yet, such blessed relief from something Elaine thought was going with her to her grave.

Soo, happy dance for happy feet.

Hugs

Elaine

Next you'll be doing the Mandango Tango...you go girl.

I used an OTC  Husband had for Diabetics and it helped...so I used it on some small patches on my forehead ...lol
I even used liquid skin to seal a deep crack...this was before Dx and I was stymied, I never had dry skin or anything before.

Broken skin and open sores are no less a serious problems as it opens you up to infection.  Glad that the meds cured the cursed fungus!

Woo hoo, Elaine!  That's a major victory I'd say!  Thanks for the positive news.  It's always so heartening to hear when something good happens to us!

It is a topical creme called Ciclopirox.

And the second cream for healing the peeling is a topical cream called Flucinonide.

I'm supposed to apply them five times a month once the peeling is healed.  To keep it good.

Elaine,

I am so happy that you will have beautiful feet for the summer! You will be able to wear all kinds of shoes! I am jealous!

How long did it take your toenail fungus to clear?  I have just one toe (big one) that has been like that for 10 years. I have tried topical products but none have worked. None were prescriptions. My podiatrist cut it back to almost nothing.

Oh dear gmomjuju!

The GOOD NEWS

This treatment was for a fungus on the BOTTOMS of my big toes.

It was causing the skin to peel in layers and then my toes to bleed.

That is gone for now.

The BAD NEWS

The TOENAIL fungus is not cleared up by this medicine.

A fungus underneath the toenails is resistant beyond belief.  I have tried every RX medication, including the  kind you take orally.   They are all versions of the same anti fungal, and may work for some but have never really done the job for me.

Toenail fungus slowly takes over the entire nail bed.  I've gotten it to retreat but it always has returned.

I've sort of given up on that, alas.

Waiting for the toenail fungus solution.

Elaine,

Here again I'm a bit late in posting, but I am thrilled that you have most of the "footsie" problems resolved.

Sure, there may be a few more serious issues some of us have but this is concerning, too, when it set you up for infection with the awful cracks.  Not to mention I'm sure the toes and feet were painful.

It's great to hear you've had some relief with this! :)

Doing a little Happy Feet dance for you!
