Central California - Los Angeles is 2 hrs south San Fran is 4 hrs north & nearest ocean is 1 & 1/2 hr west. Surrounded by agriculture - so I should be eating more veggies & fruits

Northern California, 30 minutes from San Francisco. 

Close to everything, temperate climate with high housing prices.    Supply is extremely low, demand is extremely high.  It is not unusual to have a dozen offers on a property in a week with the price getting bid up.   It's like the housing bust never happened here. 

And the mall is packed with shoppers. 

Recession?  You'd never guess by the economics of this area.
