Anyone else still have their Christmas decorations up?

Tomorrow is January 31st and I STILL have a lot of my Christmas decorations up which include two tabletop trees, wreaths, ornaments, poinsettia's, and snowmen to name a few.

Anyone else still dragging their feet to put the holiday decorations away?

I've "thought" about putting them away on several occasions, but that's as far as it gets . . . thinking about it.   ::)

The house looks so bare and colorless once all the holiday decorations are taken down.  I can't wait to bring up the silk daffodils, forsythia, plastic Easter eggs, etc. . . . but . . . it's too soon for those yet.   :(

Anybody want to come help put stuff away?? . . . any volunteers are welcome!   :D

Surely, I'm not the ONLY one with holiday decorations still up!!   :-\

We didn't put up any decorations this year as we both hate the task of taking them down.  My husband's a truck driver so it usually falls on me to do both.  Just didn't have the energy this year.  I thought about having my granddaughter help but then I would still have to take them down and put them up.  I'm considering putting up some Valentine one--just a few.  I used to love to decorate for the holidays especially Halloween since my son was born the day before Halloween.

We put up 4 big red plastic bows on posts on our front porch. Well, bad storm blew 2 of them away somewhere.

As far as do I still have up a little white tree in my house, and a few other little pretty decorations?

I refuse to answer that question!     ;D

Yep,

Got a  4' fiber optic tree in our bedroom. It is so lovely to look at. I have it on through the night. When I awaken at night, I just look at it.Sometimes, it helps me to fall back asleep. I'll probably take it down before Valentines day.

Nope, the dust would bother my allergies & no way I'm dusting Christmas decorations!

I also put up very little this year & hubby took it down (oh wait, he put it up too) :o

I was driving home last night & saw a few trees in peoples houses still lit up. They were pretty.

Is it different in the US?  In the UK it is meant to be unlucky to have Christmas decorations up after the 6th January (the 12th day of Christmas) I always hated my birthday because that was the day the decorations came down.

Take care - Scottie  :)

No because I didn't decorate this year..  ;D

I always heard it was bad luck to leave decorations up past Jan 31.. I wasn't really superstitious but my mom always was so I got used to following hers and I still do.. Like no laundry on Jan 1 or you would wash someone in or out of your family..

I've never heard anything like that Scottie.  IF it is unlucky - then I'm in a heap of trouble!!   :o   ???   ;D

Some people leave their Christmas decorations up year round.  In fact, there are places that have Christmas stores that are open year-round.  There's one in Pigeon Forge, TN that I like to visit when we go there.  Kinda strange to step into a store that is playing Christmas music and has everything Christmas in there in July when the temperatures outside are in the mid to high 80's.

I'm probably going to just "think" about taking my stuff down again today.   ;)  "Maybe" by this weekend it will all be put away . . . or, maybe not!   ;D

Our Christmas tree is still up and will stay up until mom gives the order to take it down.  She likes looking at it and she thinks she won't be here next Christmas   Now that she is basically confined to the family room where the tree is and the kitchen it's nice to have it up.

Dad, however, has been telling the nurse to take it down.  He wants it down.  The nurse won't do it unless mom gives the okay.  Let them all work it out.

O.K. just took my tree down. I really did enjoy looking at it.

Wonder if I could have decorated it for Valentine's day?

Having Christmas decorations up is fine until the grass turns green. LOL  ;D

We don't have snow here so any that are up look out of place.

Bucky we have been to that same Christmas store in Pigeon Forge,TN. I have got to take down my little white tree later today. :-[

I do though want to find me a little green tree to decorate with little birds, and nature type things. My daughter in law did this, and it is so pretty. She has it up all the time.

Oh today we were at a dollar store, and they had Christmas things for 10cents a piece. I have never been one to buy after Christmas, but at that price I couldn't resist.

I found a Christmas wall felt hanging thingy about kitty, and I have a big white cat. Also found a couple of ornaments that just said, I love my garden. I thought well I will use that on a plant this spring.

Are my decorations & trees still up??  YEP!!   ;D

Susanep - maybe, you could get one of those topiary trees (tall potted skinny trees) that you can decorate with your birds and nature things.

Our bathroom has a nature type theme to it and I decorate quite a bit with birdhouses that I find at garage sales.

IF I take my holiday decorations down I don't have anything to put in their place until Spring is here.  It wouldn't look right to put Easter stuff up right now.  (Although, in the stores they already have the bathing suits out!   ::))
