Restarting Chemo Tomorrow

Hi Everyone:

I'm re-starting my chemo regime tomorrow for the treatment of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma caused by Sjs.   Hoping that this round goes a bit better than last time as the Oncologist stopped my chemo after the 4th round because she said it was literally killing me.  Also told me that my treatment was more challenging because my Sjs was already pretty severe and I had so many complications.

So happy to report that a number of the more serious side-effects from the last round of chemo have subsided and are not nearly as bad as they were.  It has been confirmed recently that the cancer is still there though and since the beginning of December, all of my "B" symptoms have returned in force, but that was to be expected.

If things go as planned I'm also to be continuing my Rituxan infusions for about 30 months (things do get reassessed after each treatment so its hard to say exactly what will take place).

My spirits are pretty good though and I am blessed to have a wonderful husband who has been helping me so much and has been there for every single infusion.   

Crossing my fingers that I'll be up to this go around and that the cancer will respond appropriately.

My dear Daisy - what a coincidence that you posted this morning.  I was sitting here at my computer desk this morning looking at "my daisy" and wondering how you were doing.  You beat me to posting to ask you.

I wish you all the best as you resume your chemo treatments.  I pray that they will do their job and take care of that nasty cancer that you are dealing with.

I wish I could give you a real hug vs. a cyber one - but, this is the best I can do.

Wishing you only the best in your fight against NHL!  My sister had this in college and went through quite aggressive treatment.  I can report that she is now 32 with child and living a full life. 

My prayers are with you.....I don't know how you stay so positive but this will get you through.  Big hugs for you and your hubby.  I will be thinking of you.  Jill

Hi Daisy,

Just wanted to let you know my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this treatment.  I think your positive outlook is great and it will help your body respond positively to the chemo treatment you are getting.  I watched my aunt battle Lymphoma in the 1970's (not sure what type, but it was a B-cell Lymphoma, non-hodgkins type).  It was a tough battle but even back then she was able to beat it and lived into her 80's without it recurring.  Just wanted you to know I'll be thinking of you!

Good luck daisy! I hope your body has recouped enough to handle it better this time. Make sure you are stocked up on good magazines, books on tape, crosswords, or whatever will keep your mind occupied with other things.

As someone also battling cancer, I know what a roller coaster you are on!  Good luck as you begin your chemo and be sure to take good care of yourself while you are going through this.  I too have a husband who helps me tremendously - in that sense we are very lucky.
